Seriously. Max deserves the entire world for still being beside Kawi during all of this and still fully supporting him and his choices and trying to help him be the best he can be. He is the truest, best friend anyone could ask for and he deserves to be tired.

This was absolutely an “oh” moment for Pisaeng, who’s always felt so pressured by other people’s expectations

For Pisaeng, there’s comfort and relief in anonymity. He really just wants to be left in peace, unjudged and unscrutinized

And Max pointing out that the world isn’t gonna do you any favors, so you have to be kind to yourself (and to each other) and that requires throwing out other people’s expectations

Kawi, on the other hand, just desperately wants to feel important and recognized, even if he hasn’t quite figured out who he wants to be important to, or why

They’ve both let the expectations of other people control their lives, both now, and in the future. Kawi by letting those (real and imagined) expectations leach into his expectations for himself. And Pisaeng by not prioritizing kindness to himself. They’ve both refused to take action to change their unhappiness in the past.

They’re coming from total opposite directions and perspectives, but they’re honestly searching for the same thing…
