In a sort of AU type reality what do you think Nettles and Daemons relationship would look like after the war?

Oh let’s see. In this scenario, Team Black has actually won the war and Aegon II was overthrown so I imagine that Daemon would arrive back at four with Nettles as his unofficial mistress(officially she’s Baela or Rhaena’s lady companion).

I’d like to say he’d take her as his second wife, but that’s pretty much impossible given the fact that polygamous marriages are longer sanctioned and Rhaenyra’s reign would be on shaky ground so testing the Faith is a no-go.

He’s obviously worked out some deal with Rhaenyra where he publically supports as Prince Consort does his duties as protector of the realm, but his private life is his own.

Privately, Nettles is his wife in all but name. Come on, did you guys see how domestic they were at Maidenpool? That domesticity(sleeping in adjoining chambers, taking their meals together, council, the baths, etc.) continues in the capitol 🥰

I think Nettles at this point has gotten rid of most of her apprehensions about being his mistress, but the court can be daunting and extremely judgmental. For respectability’s sake, and to quell some of the gossip, Daemon might try to find a husband for her (if she wishes it).

Lol that marriage would never be consummated and Daemon would in fact have the groom wait outside of Nettles' rooms on their wedding night, that is if the man isn’t a friend of Dorothy😬

The only problem I can see interrupting this blissful pair would come in the form of Nettles falling pregnant(someone forgot to brew the moontea🫢)

Nettles is a little shock and apprehensive to tell Daemon, but shes so relieved to find out he’s happy about the baby.

Rhaenyra completely flips out and snaps (and Mysaria because she’s still around). She’s tolerated Nettles up until then, but the baby(especially after she lost her last one) makes her go full-blown evil queen.

Poison may find its way into Nettles' morning tea, but Daemon takes no precautions with her health and safety, especially when she’s in such a delicate state, so, of course, she has tasters for her. It doesn’t take long for Daemon to get to the bottom of the poisoning and figure out obviously it does not end well for Queenie and her mistress of whisperers🗡️

Do you think nettles is a virgin? I know in the books they say since she’s homeless and penniless that she might have lost it to get sheep or something, but I feel like daemon took her virginity.

Yes, I do. When it comes to Nettles it’s clear that the maesters had a racial(as well as class) bias against her. Her sexuality was just another way to “other” her in comparison to highborn Valyrian, Andal, and First Men women of Westeros.

She’s a wanton brown-skinned girl who is the daughter of a “dockside whore.” She doesn’t mind trading sex for goods. It means nothing to her.

I think it’s safe to say you have to take what maesters, say about her in certain areas with a handful of salt because they and pretty much every character who she interacts with in the story views her as beneath them.

I kinda liken it to how people view Black girls as faster than white girls who are viewed as pure, chaste, and innocent even in cases where the opposite is true. (There are studies that show that little girls as young as five are perceived in this manner🙃).

This is why when people try to mock Nettles for “shifting her skirts” for sheep yet claim that a certain character is as innocent as apple pie I get pissed the hell off. Their racism is yet again showing😊

There are plenty of other ways she could have gotten those sheep. I mean for one she probably stole them since she has a known track record of doing that to feed herself. Or some kindly shepherd might’ve given her one or two since Sheepstealer was going to take them anyway 🤷🏽‍♀️

You also have to keep in mind that Nettles likely chose to live on the streets rather than follow in her mother’s footsteps. Not demonizing those forced to partake in sex work, but Nettles clearly wasn’t built for it and would rather try her luck not knowing when or how she’d get her next meal than the aforementioned. Paying for sheep with her body is one of the last things she would do.

I can’t imagine that Nettles would willingly sleep with someone she did not at least have very strong feelings for. She’d worry too much about getting pregnant and bringing a bastard into the world to do so. So unless there was some other guy who she loved before Daemon, he was her first 🤷🏽‍♀️

In your Dettles fanfic "To every season" thier first child passes away but what if he did live? How would Daemon react to seeing Nettles and their son and how would their son react to him? Just a little what if scenario 🤗

Okay so first off, Daemon would feel just a severe amount of guilt.

Now he already feels highly guilty for being away from his Netty for five years, even though the reasons why they were separated for so long weren’t within his control, but he’s able to hide it better. When he finds out that she gave birth to their son and raised him for the first years of his life, he feels like a failure.

He starts to feel and voice that he should’ve pushed himself. He should’ve remembered sooner. He should’ve pushed himself to remember. He’ll even start to regret going after Aemond in the first place. They could’ve left together for some faraway place and never looked back at Westeros. He curses that sense of honor/duty he had felt that led him to go hunting Aemond alone, which nearly killed him. It left her and the little one they created alone in the world.

This is an entirely different scenario from his other kids because there aren’t maids, wet nurses, and other servants around to pawn off their children. Nettles is actually the main one raising their son.

So Daemon would beat himself because he’s missed out on so much and Nettles had to be there for him all by herself. He’s super grateful that she found the hill tribes, but he should’ve been there taking care of them. He wonders how Nettles can forgive him when he left her and their son alone for so long. Nettles of course thinks this is silly.

He’s here now. He found his way back to them. She can’t hold what happened against him. If he never went after Aemond he’d regret it and she’d never want him to regret anything.

Daemon doesn’t let his guilt keep him from interacting with their kid. He really goes out of his way to bond with their son and make up for most time.

He carves little wooden dragon toys for him. He’ll make him a little practice sword if he doesn’t already have one and he will literally sit there for hours just listening to him babble on. He kinda lets him get away with things. Like if Nettles doesn’t let him eat sweets before dinner he’ll just give Daemon puppy eyes and he’ll sneak the kid some treats and be like, “Don’t tell your mom.” 🤣🤣🤣

As far as their son goes, this one looks like a mini-Daemon and he kinda acts like one too. He’s extremely weary of Daemon at first. I mean he is basically a stranger. He does know that he’s dad though, even without Nettles telling him so. He may be a kid, but he has eyes.

He’s just so used to it essentially being himself, Nettles, and Sheepstealer. Nettles has centered her life around raising him, so he’s a mama’s boy, and he’s very protective over her. He’s very clingy. I imagine that while he may have his own bed, he creeps into Nettles's bed at night most of the time and sleeps there. However, when he sees Daemon cuddling up to her he goes, “Hey that’s my place” 🤣🤣🤣So he pushes himself between the two saying that he thought he heard a noise.

Daemon goes to check, and when he comes back and tries to join them, the poor man is regulated to the far end of the bed when his son tells him that he needs room to breathe (which is utterly ridiculous when he’s clinging to Nettles).

It obviously takes a while, and some patience on Daemon’s end, but the two eventually bond. Probably over dragons. I think that their son might actually be a little upset/insecure about the fact that he does not have his own dragon. Especially considering who his parents are.

This is Daemon’s way in because he gets to comfort him and tell him that he was not born with a dragon himself. Dragons don’t make a man and he is already an incredibly clever boy with a good heart.

Or they might bond over their territorial issues. I.e. they dislike it when they see men throwing themselves Nettles' way.

It becomes even more apparent how similar the two are with how jealous they both act(the pouting, the clinging onto her, and glaring at the man in question, which is surprisingly intimidating even coming from a five-year-old). Nettles finds it hilarious (not to mention adorable) as she points it out to the two. They of course deny it and say that she is far too trusting. That they must look out for her. Lol, nothing brings father and son together than acting like the human embodiment of their house sigil 🐉

During their hunt for Aemond I can definitely see Daemon getting flirty and playful with Nettles while they take to the sky. Caraxes and Sheepstealer probably got really close because of Daemon and Nettles and just being the only 2 dragons around eachother. Nettles would probably yell out for him to stop fooling around because Aemond could show up at any time and would try to go back to searching but Daemon would definitely try to coax her into a game of dragon-tag in which she eventually does give in.

Yes 🙌🏽 Lol, Nettles’ would definitely be like “Stop clowning around we have a job to do,” but she can’t resist her man’s infectious charm. I love it🙌🏽

I’m getting vibes similar to how Daemon and Laena were riding atop Caraxes and Vhagar and performing tricks for the Pentoshi Magister in episode 6, but this time it would be only for their pleasure. Their time in Maidenpool is their domestic bliss era😊

That bath scene between Charlotte and George on Bridgerton just gave me so much Nettles and Daemon vibes expect it would definitely end differently in their case since they'll take that straight to the bedroom 🤣 they'll definitely be bumping into anything and everything as they make their way to the bed, maybe even go a couple of rounds up against the wall before they even make it 🤭

Yes 🙌🏽 It definitely gives Nettles and Daemon vibes at Maidenpool. Half the bath water ends on the floor especially when Daemon scoops up Nettles to take her to their bed(they need space😏). The maids have quite a mess to clean up in the morning 🧹

OK so you're Dettles after the war AU made me think about how MESSY it would be if Nettles became a lady of the court and she decided married someone random. First of all Daemon being the one to spend their wedding night with Nettles? I cackled 🤣 I can just imagine one of the servants seeing him standing there and just going

"Ser is there something wrong?"

"Oh nothing just... waiting to sleep" (he in fact never enters the chambers because Daemon occupies it the whole night so the poor guy has to find somewhere else to sleep)

Also to think about how chaotic it will be after, Daemon seeing Nettles and her husband and just fuming with jealously, he sees them out for a walk one day and her husband places a hand behind her back or offers his arm out of duty and Daemon just interrupts by lodging himself in between them.

Poor guy🤣 but yeah he quickly catches on to the arrangement. He pretty much avoids Nettles' bed chambers because of it. She mostly stays in Daemon’s apartments but the few times he's ventured to hers and she’s in them Daemon is right there with her🤣

Love the last part 🙌🏽Daemon definitely would be seeing red even though he knows it’s just for show. Let’s just say he won’t leave Nettles' side for the rest of the day. He might even challenge her husband to a “friendly” game in the training yard.

If there are say visiting nobles from Essos and the court is holding a feast for them Nettles is definitely sitting by his side while her husband is seated at the far of the table. Needless to say, she’s definitely spending the night in Daemon’s chambers 😏

A little Dettles what if angst:

How do you think Daemon would react when he has to send Nettles away knowing that she was pregnant?

😓 Oof well Daemon would be even more eager to see that Nettles is safely hidden away from it all. At the same time, he does not wish for her to leave his side. He knows that no one would protect her and their child as he would. He knows how Netty herself grew up.

We get no mention of her father, but we can presume that her mother was left pregnant with her and she had to deal with that all on her own. Daemon is going to feel really guilty about doing the same with Nettles. The whole reason why she claims Sheepstealer and fights in the Dance in the first place is to give herself a better life than the life of a daughter of a dockside wh*re.

Now she’s essentially following her mother's footsteps except she’s got people after who want her dead because of it.

So Daemon is left in a pickle. He does not want to leave her, but he can’t bring her with him to fight Aemond because it will be too dangerous. If she dies in battle or gets severely injured and loses their baby he’d never forgive himself.

He can’t go off with her because if he just disappears whoever sits upon the Iron Throne(be it the Greens or Rhaenyra) will try to find him(no one is just going to let the Rogue Prince slip away) and that will also just put Netty and their child in danger.

The only choice Daemon has is to send her off alone into the unknown. A choice he’s really going to struggle with. The guilt is at an all-time high especially because I can imagine Nettles begging him not to send her away.

Now that he knows there is nothing to hide so she doesn’t want to separate from him. She wants a family. She might use the baby as a reason why she can’t leave him. That she’ll be fine, they’ll be fine because he will never let anything happen to them.

Daemon might then say something particularly nasty so that she wants to leave him. Which will of course make him feel ten times worse, even if she doesn’t believe those cruel words he speaks, but he has to send her away from him because Nettles has to live. Her story can not end there after everything she’s been through. Their child has to have a chance at life so he has to send them away and it breaks him when he sees her flying off into the unknown.

Aw, I'm glad you like it. Daemon x Nettles is my OTP at the moment and there really aren't a lot of fics with them so I have/had to do my part. lol, I'm glad I could make a possible Dattles convert ☺
