Question: is there a “correct” or more common way (historically, perhaps) of tying a leather journal closed when they come with straps attached to the aides like this? I’ve wondered about this for years.

Question: Is reverse writing with fountain pens a bad idea, or a terribly bad idea?
Or neither?
I started doing this recently for my notetaking because it’s easier to rotate the pen to the backside rather than switch it out for one with a finer nib. Any chances of long-term damage, if I use relatively light pressure when doing so and only for little sidebar notes?
Does anybody find that on high-quality paper, you tend to NOT get the full line width with a stub/italic when you're writing at a normal speed? Maybe because Rhodia and similar brands are less absorbent?
Calling all TWSBI (ECO) owners!
Can anybody tell me whether I should go with a Fine or Extra-fine? I have small-medium writing and do best with 6-7mm ruled paper. (Bonus points if you can draw comparisons to the Pilot Metropolitan M/F, the Lamy EF nibs, or the Fine Platinum Preppy).
How smooth are the TWSBI nibs?
And though the Eco’s cap gives it a chunky look, would you consider it a wide pen?
Super mega bonus points if you can drop any secrets about upcoming TWSBI Eco colors other than the clear!
Happy Fountain Pen Day!
Today was really tiring and stressful for me, so I couldn't really do a whole ton for this special day, but I hope the rest of you got to :)
I almost dunked a dip pen loaded with India ink into my tea instead of my paint water.
I’m betting it doesn’t go well with chamomile.
Quite right.
