Watching an X-Files episode where some creep targets fat women to eat them is wild when the "fat women" in question are like size 12 with round faces.

Like I know we talk about heroine chic in the 90s but I truly think we've forgotten how bad it was. Hearing a woman in her 30s who weighs 165 lbs cited as very overweight is bananas. I'm 5'7'' and I start to look sickly and underfed at 165. Even a pretty short woman would not be reasonably described as fat at 165.

And to be clear this isn't about fat being bad or good. Fat is a neutral descriptor to me. But it absolutely says something about society's attitudes about fatness when people are described as fat (and, more pejoratively, as too big, overweight, obese, etc.) the second they aren't skeletally thin with hollowed out cheeks and eyes.

this is not a complaint it's just funny but being skinny is so stupid because you literally just have hard surfaces sticking out everywhere and they actually hurt when they contact furnitures, walls, and clothing. sitting on stuff hurts, leaning on stuff hurts, elastic hurts, socks hurt. it's one of the ways you can tell you're getting too underweight and need to pay attention when you have ongoing weight balance issues is when you're noticing the little pressure points that come up suddenly. This post is about body positivity. It doesn’t matter how big, small, or medium you are, you are perfect and amazing! Me and my partner have been going through stuff with our bodies (I’m underweight) but it doesn’t mean that we can’t find each other beautiful. Please don’t force yourself to eat/starve. Eating disorders are not your friend. There’s many healthier ways to achieve the body that you’d always dreamed of, and they all cost dedication and effort. Never give up, never resort to something harmful. Life is short and expensive, take care of yourself and enjoy your life.
