I was reading "The Old Money Book" by Byron Tully during breakfast and i stumbled upon some new knowledge that I wanted to share to you guys.
Individuals from high society - according to the book - hate the thought of multitasking. It is just a facade of looking like you are being productive, when in fact you are most likely not doing anything productive. It was a total eye-opener as, if I have to be honest, been the definition of a multitasker and have been conditioned to since childhood to multitask. It made me take a break and truly think and reflect if this statement was true at all, and it is. Every time I was multitasking it felt really good doing it as it made me feel super efficient and productive, and looking back I actually didn't get anything done. Multitasking is also very overwhelming and literally stressful. However, whenever I was doing something one thing at the time I felt slow and unproductive when I again looking back did more. It made me think that we live in a society where doing 100 things at the same time is efficient, when in reality humans are not machines, and our brains aren't meant to undergo that much stimulus. That is why whenever I encountered someone with roots from high society, they are so relaxed because they don't stress themselves and resolve to methods that are not only worse, but also extremely wasteful. So, to be a socialite and get myself into the scene of high society, I have to have the same relaxed and hard-working demeanor, and that starts with putting my bad multitasking habits to rest.
