Once I finish my endless amount of homework I'm jumping into chapter twelve!

I'm so excited to write it

Chapter Twelve and the Finale Chapter will be the most beautiful metaphorically. Think of the metaphorical scenes and action of Chapter Ten (both parts)

multiply that by 100

and I don't mean quantity. I mean quality, the importance and beauty of it

I can already feel the emotion and I haven't even written it yet

take this as an omen 🫵

Airing Out The Bones

As soon as the sun is warm and the air no longer holds a chill is when it is time to air the bones.  I gather the bones outside and let the warm air hit them, inspecting them for damage and admiring them in all their beauty.  I take ritually worked water that I prepared for such occasions, washing the bones of any dust, or dirt from rituals past. I often ply the spirits with kind words and offerings of smoke and food. This often takes the longest as I spend my time touching and working all the surfaces of the bones consecrating them.

When I’ve finished I let the sun and wind wick the water away and bring them inside where I anoint them with oils and prepare them for ritual use. I tend to do this several times in the warm weather. Like myself, my bones and magical tools need fresh air and a new face.

I made a bone knife, which is also really just a bone letter opener so far since I haven’t been able to sharpen it to perfection

Edit: (this bone was found in the forest, and this bone is a shard from a deer leg bone. We found an entire deer skeleton in the first, but left all the rest of the bones there for others to enjoy.)

Anyone got any cool bonework stuff that is not skulls or jawbones? Jawbones are alright actually I guess, but like everything I can find is either skulls or jawbones and... where are the fuckin fibias, ribs, shoulderblades...?

Merry Christmas! Every year, my husband’s uncle gives me dear meat for Christmas (that he hunts himself in the fall) and I couldn’t be more grateful. This year I asked if he had any bones. His aunt asked me if it was for soup, and I was like, ‘yeah sure, let’s go with that!’ His uncle asked me if it was for arts and crafts, and I said, ‘yeah, actually, sort of!’ His aunt had no idea what I was going on about. So he offered me this gorgeous antler from a buck that had shed it in the spring! As we left the house, my husband looks over at me and says, ‘that’s going right on your altar, isn’t it?’ What can I say, the man knows me! I can’t wait to rearrange and simplify my altar and really get into some bone work. .
