Non-fiction book idea: "Short Story Long"

It takes the very short, single sentence story "I went to the store to get milk" and expands on basically every aspect of that story.

the biological mechanisms that allow you to walk

the history of urban designs and sidewalks

the history of commerce and capitalism

the history of milk consumption

the production of milk from the biological processes inside the cow to the milking, processing, and distributing

the history of credit and the complicated bureaucracy that keeps the financial system operating smoothly

and on and on

Each one of these topics could fill many books by itself. Which means that ironically this book would also have to keep a lot of long stories short or else it'll never be finished.

Remember, hearing some where that before marriage spartan women would cut off their hair, after that, I I really like the idea of Helen of Sparta cutting off her hair again when she sees her husband after the Trojan war, to sort of reestablish their relationship 💕

Confession:

I would love to see a survival horror story set in space. Like…a group of astronauts get stranded on a strange planet after their ship crashes and have to survive under extreme conditions. Mix of horror and sci-fi.

concept: story of a depressed and suicidal teenage girl who feels lost in life meets the ghost of a girl who died a year ago in some kind of accident. and the ghost is grieving and bitter over her death, because she wanted to live and she had plans, and she had so much she wanted to see and do and it was taken from her. but aside from the grief and the fact that she is, yk, dead, the ghost is actually a very kind and funny person who just embodies this feeling of being alive and living. and the depressed girl is like "well i can't very well let you mope around alone, especially because im the only one that can see you, so I guess i got to hang out with you. which isn't actually so bad because you are one of the only people I feel comfortable around, lately" and they become friends. and the story progresses and they grow closer and the living girl helps the ghost accept her death and what it means for her and her family, and the ghost helps the living girl to see that life is worth living, despite the pain. obviously they fall in love. and by accepting her death the ghost is able to move on, and she wants to, despite being in love with a living girl. and the living girl decides to stay alive for a while longer even though her lover is dead (and gone for real this time) because she has learned that her time will come - death is the only inevitable thing after all - and one day she will see her love again. but until then, she will live.

Why does every story that has a character with Down’s syndrome reduce them to “oh this character has Down’s syndrome, isn’t that sad?” Fuck that! Can I have a gay romcom where someone with Down’s syndrome falls in love with their co-worker? How about a slice of life webcomic where a girl with Down’s syndrome and her buddies start a band? Or a supernatural story about a vampire hunter with Down’s syndrome. I don’t know there’s so much potential you could do but you just make it a sad thing!

Can’t get this fic idea out of my head.

Description

y/n witnessed something bad, something she shouldn't have ever seen, she somehow stumbled across a secret operation, a company known as

"the future. ink" were experimenting on fallen soldiers, more specifically monsters / hybrids.

Except one of them wasn't dead, just waiting.

When they found out they put him in a cell and experimented on him, alive...he continuously killed his torturers but never managed to escape.

Y/n however, fresh out of collage aged 21 applies at this company assuming all is well, thinking she was making the future better... they gave her the role of a cleaner, I guess it's something at least, pays enough to live, hours are from 10pm-12am on weekdays and lam-Sam on weekends, so what happens when you see eyes peering through what looks

I don’t know what type of monster or hybrid I should make him (preferably some what human looking or with a human form)
