No way. No fucking way. I can’t believe Terry Pratchett has actually done this. This is such an in-depth joke. To understand it read that Norse myth with the mistletoe, I forgot what it’s called but basically Loki (who is, of course, Hoki in this scenario) managed to trick the blind brother of an unkillable god into killing him, with mistletoe. But this is so cool. The fact that it’s an “old joke” implies that this prank has been pulled many times before Hoki, so Terry is saying that he was both banished and wasn’t even original about it.
