Please tell me I am not he only one who bought a Taylor booksong but doesn’t know how to read it because you forgot musical theory you learnt at school.

I have to say that I play a bit the piano and the guitar but I actually learnt from YouTube tutorials. But my goal this summer was to be able to read a sheet music

AS USUAL IT HAS BEEN ONE THOUSAND YEARS, I hope everyone treats prompting me like planting a seed that might eventually grow into something you might like bc I’m for sure not going to be timely and I’m really sorry about that!!

I wanted to do both of these but I think “I mean, maybe/it’s better if my opponent wins” is just the thesis of Rise Like The Bright Morning Stars and I’ve been working on TFF again so I’ve got Kagehina on the brain, so:

Kagehina, ‘he doesn’t know/what to do with his hands’

Hinata comes back to school from summer vacation with longer hair, and Kageyama can’t stop looking at him.

It doesn’t make any sense that that would be true, because Kageyama hung out with him every week, almost every day, over the summer. He knows exactly the wound that’s under the bandaid on Hinata’s elbow because he pried out the bits of gravel himself. He knows the pink of sunburn—fading to freckles—across the back of his neck, because he was the one who forgot to remind Hinata to put on sunscreen before they went to the beach. He knows Hinata, because Hinata is his best friend, and there is no reason for him to be knocked off balance by him showing up to class.

It’s the uniform, he decides by third period. It’s the uniform and the way Hinata’s hair curls over the collar of the uniform, and the way the uniform is not volleyball gear or stupid t-shirts or tanktops streaked with dust. It’s the way the sleeves of the uniform don’t hang loose over his arms anymore, but fit snug to his shoulders, his biceps. That makes sense, Kageyama figures; it makes sense that his brain would stutter over fitting Hinata back into a uniform it hasn’t seen him in in months. 

He kind of figured it would stop stuttering once he’d figured out what was off but instead he finds himself sitting next to Hinata on the train, jostled together by other passengers, still feeling sort of—mentally breathless as Hinata yawns and cracks his neck. Hinata’s curls sweep against shoulder and he doesn’t know. What to do with his hands, what to do with the tightness in his chest, what to do with anything.

“Man, today was so long,” Hinata complains, as Kageyama finds himself saying, “it’s long,” and then trailing off.

Hinata blinks at him. “Sorry, what? Did you—were you just finishing my sentence for me—”

Kageyama feels his face heat. “No, I wasn’t talking about—”

“—honestly Kageyama you’re so weird, you like started saying that before I even—”

“—shut up, I wasn’t talking about the stupid day, obviously it was long, it’s school, what did you expect—”

“—then what even were you talking about?” Hinata’s face is very close, his nose scrunched up in laughing confusion as their tangled dialogue stumbles to a stop. He has freckles there, too, a faint little constellation from ear. 

Kageyama gives up, leaning his head back against the rattling window of the train. “Your hair,” he admits. “It’s getting long.”

“Oh,” says Hinata, and shoves a hand into it, tugging. “I guess! You like it?”

Kageyama runs his eyes upward, along ceiling of the train. The world blurs outside, the two of them rushing along without ever really moving at all. “Yeah,” he says. “I like it.”
