Behold
The bookwheel
Invented by the Italian engineer Agostino Ramelli in 1588, a BOOKWHEEL is a rotating library.
There is one in Puebla, Mexico
I want one! The bearded reader is also wearing an intriguing outfit... Me doing research I have 5 papers and 8 books all open and scattered about a big table.
As I was deconstructing my #bookwheel the other day, my colored books fell over and I snapped a shot. I probably could’ve arranged them more proportionally, but I just really liked the way they fell and thought I’d leave well enough alone. I’ve found that in my photos (and in my life, tbh) the “accidents” often bring more joy than the best laid plans.. 🌈📚 #bookrainbow #rainbowvibes #bookishrainbow #coverlovin #nakedbooks #bookstagramming #booktography #bookworm #ficwishes https://www.instagram.com/p/BusAbMzHJvr/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=hijwlj84hn1h

Sixteenth-century solution to the problem of a deskful of open books. Some of these were actually made, in various forms.
