Today was an incredible day! I started out feeling really defeated this morning. But I always say “we are right where we are supposed to be!” I tell other people that all the time but I forget it all the time. I have a tendency to dig deeper for others than I do for myself. I need the motivation. Lesson learned and heeded. So what did I do? I banged em in the face with some Fire Engine (IYKYK) and hit em in the ears with some WSMFP. These Cajuns think I’m crazy. Lol. Needless to say, Throwing up 450 plates for breakfast was a blast. Thanks to Jesus and Barnie White, we now have a refer truck for cold storage. As a rule of thumb, we try not to stop cooking until the power is on or most everyone has sufficient means of safe food preparation. I wasn’t sure how I was gonna continue food service for these awesome people until I spoke with my main man at World Central Kitchen this morning. Tomorrow we are gonna hash out details on getting prepared meals delivered. to these folks in Cutoff. Man what a load off my back. So I may be here one more day to fill the gap. No lunch today but we still fired out almost 1,000 plates and ended it with a banging fish fry thanks to Nick Savoie and a bow fishing guy named Jamie (I’ve lost his card) who donated 100 pounds of cleaned filets! And of course a giant thanks to T Paul for letting us setup camp at Dufrene Building Materials in Cutoff. Remember this, “No matter whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re correct!” Day 4 down. @bubbablade #bubbablade @johnboosco #boosblocks @traegergrills @wckitchen @joseandresfoods @phelps757 #traeger @blackstoneproducts #fireengine @widespreadpanichq @david_a_schools (at Cut Off, Louisiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTYZ-jtrBO_/?utm_medium=tumblr
