London Marathon 2016... To Be or Not To Be.....

A few months back I entered the ballot for next year’s London Marathon. The ballot results were made a few weeks back but mine is still registered to my old address so I’m still not 100% sure if I made it or not. I’m not holding my breath but I’m keeping the faith and hoping I may have got a speck. I’ve also had an offer to run for 2 different charities next year as well. I always said I wanted to do the race again after this year but I also said I wouldn’t do it again unless I made the ballot. I found the fundraising very challenging at times and I’d feel awkward going back cap in hand to the same people again for next year’s one. I’ve never been one for blowing my own trumpet so to speak and I find it a bit uncomfortable asking people for money.

There’s also the time you need to give up for training which by the last couple of months pretty much takes up your whole Sunday.

For now, I think I’ll stick to the 10ks and half marathons but I guess we’ll see......

One Week On.....

A little over a week after the London Marathon, I’m finally back in one piece! I’ve barely done a thing since last Sunday and consequently feel like I’ve put about 3 stone on in the meantime. My plan is to start back slowly into my routine this week and get back to running regularly. I’ve also decided I’m going to re-join the gym again so I can mix up my training. I just need to find a way to fit it into my schedule.....

The ballot for the London Marathon 2016 opened today and I’ve just put in my application. I’d really love to do it again so I can focus more on enjoying the day and also knock another chunk off my marathon PB.
