Cons:
-Bad taste - tasted kinda yucky, especially at first as I’m not really used to herbal teas, but it soon grew on me! The Night Tea was particularly good with half a teaspoon of honey, but the Day Tea didn’t taste too good really :o
-Couldn’t eat meat - although you are allowed fish, and as it was only temporary, I didn’t really mind!
Pros:
-Time - it didn’t take long to make up the teas or drink them!
-Better skin - cleared my skin up considerably (at least according to other people)
-Slight energy boost, though nothing significant :/
Other things to be aware of:
-Laxative effect - even though the Night Tea packaging mentions a “laxative effect”, it took a couple of days for the effect to happen, and it honestly wasn’t pretty. This could be a difference between individuals, or because at first I didn’t stew the teas very long, but is still worth noting!
-Weight loss - in terms of losing weight, I only really noticed a small difference on the scales, and that was only when I started regularly exercising, so it’s best to combine the detox with exercise to make a real difference :) I also restricted my calorie intake, so this probably would have also contributed to the weight loss somewhat.
-Expensive - although herbal teas seem to be slightly more expensive than normal teas, £20 for 21 teabags (around 95p per teabag) is quite costly. Personally I thought this cost was worth it, as it was only for the two weeks and not a regular expense, but I probably wouldn’t do the detox regularly because of the cost. Note that buying enough tea for a four-week cleanse is around £38, and therefore a little cheaper :D
Conclusion!
To be honest, I didn’t notice any particular big differences while on this detox. Very slight weight loss and better skin were the only things that really changed while drinking Bootea, and paying £20 to not eat meat for two weeks wasn’t really worth it. However, it was actually a really pleasant experience (minus that laxative effect!) and something new to try, as I’d never done a detox of any kind before, so I’m glad I did it, and I don’t think it was a waste of my time or money. Honestly, I don’t think I’d do it again, or at least not in the near future, but I might try a different cleanse at another time :D Thank you for joining me on my Bootea Teatox journey! :)
