Greencraft is the practice of making magic with natural items that Earth provides. Herbs, flowers, stones, and soil all make perfect ingredients for spiritual amulets and good luck charms.

This zine takes a beginning witch through the steps of creating and consecrating spell bottles and herbal sachets for self love, protection, and more!

This zine was written by hand and comes directly from my own experience with the craft and as a herbalist. Each of the 16 pages is in full color with vibrant photos of inspiring sachets, bottles, herbs, and flowers to inspire the budding green witch in this fulfilling practice.

Calendula Craft is a small scale publishing project based in the mountains of rural Argentina. Each publication is caringly created, printed, and folded by me, Chloe Calendula. Pet protection bottle spell

Note: this is not a replacement for vaccines or medical care an it is not intended to stop them from dying or getting terrible diseases it's just a simple little spell to protect your pet from whatever danger they may get in to in their pet life

Spell/materials

A bottle that closes

Protection symbols (certain rocks, pine needles, anything that provides protection an can fit in your bottle)

Things that remind you of your pet (food, litter, toy parts, etc)

Put your objects in to the bottle, close it when everything is in

Find your pet

Pet the creature with the bottle tell the bottle it's propose (is there something specific your protecting your pet from or general protection)

When all done put the bottle near an area your pet likes to be (but not where they can eat it!)

Things to consider

I did this for my bunny. I used a small bottle because that's what I had, I don't think bottle to pet size will matter

I keep my bunny's projection bottle on the table next to her area

I tried to have equal pet thing an protection things in the bottle

You have to still take care of your pet

Devoted to the Earth Elemental Witch’s Jar

This is a jar to use in elemental altars, to place on the section devoted to the Earth and her beauty! You can place this jar near to you when you need energies from the Earth, such as during related spellwork. 

Needed:

One small or medium sized bottle, jar, or pill bottle

An incense you personally associate with the Earth

Contents: 

Clay

Granite

Petrified wood

Sand 

Dried rosemary

Rep pepper flakes

Whole peppercorns

2 bay leaves

Dandelion seeds

2 dried rosebuds

Dried basil

To do:

Bring a small incense burner, your jar, and your ingredients to a fire safe outdoor area that is usually full of life and nature.

Light up an incense that you personally associate with Earth. Meditate through the duration of the burning. As you do, visualize the Earth’s green and golden energies filling your jar to the brim, spilling over with her bountiful and loving energy. 

As the last of the incense burns away, carefully place your ingredients into your jar. As you do, chant 3 times:  On this Earth where I stand,  Digging my roots deep into the sand,  Fill this jar with Your Energy deep and bright, And fill me with Your strength and might.

Put the ashes from the burnt incense into the jar, sprinkling it over the rest of the ingredients. 

Put the lid on your jar, and seal the spell with a kiss to the lid. 

Close off by thanking the Earth for helping you and lending you her energy.

Sasha’s Emotional Strength Spell (Neopets Inspired)

A spell to help you endure even the most brutal of emotional times and hold some strength when you need it most. This spell is one best done before hard times hit for it, like many spells, does require focus and energy put into it. 

You Will Need: 

🎵 Tea Leaves/Black Tea (strength, courage, energy)

🎵 Mugwort (strength, courage)

🎵 Mullein (courage)

🎵 Thyme (courage, determination)

🎵 Rosemary (mental protection, emotional strength)

🎵 Celery Seeds (mental strength, focus)

🎵 Sesame Seeds (hope)

🎵 Rose Quartz (emotional strength, hope)

🎵 Clear Quartz (energy, power, hope, focus)

🎵 Red Candle (small)

🎵 Jar or Tightly Closing Container

🎵 A Playlist of Songs that Make You Feel Powerful and Courageous

Set Up:

To set up this spell clean and clear an area, cleanse it as needed to prevent energy contamination. Make sure your playlist is set up and ready to play whether it’s through headphones or over some speakers from a phone or computer. If needed, put it on loop to ensure it plays the whole duration. Make sure you set up proper fire safety for this spell does require burning a candle down and over the container so make sure if needed there is wax paper or newspaper to catch any loose drips and that you aren’t working over carpet. Tie back all loose hair and roll up sleeves, due to motions that will take place near the flame. 

The Spell:

🎵 Turn on your playlist, if using speakers be courteous to any neighbors or roommates you may have and try not to have it too loud (especially late at night - don’t be that person)

🎵 Set up the jar or bottle you will be using and add in your herbs. The more herbs the stronger it is - though if it is a smaller container be sure to keep it from overflowing.

🎵 Once your herbs are layered in as desired add in your gemstones or shards

🎵 Screw the lid on tightly and place your candle on top, make sure as it burns it is able to melt over the lid of the container to seal it. Light it 

🎵 Once lit focus on the music playing and the energy it gives you, hold your hands to either side of the jar or container and focus that energy from the music through your body into the jar. Focus like this until wax is well melted from the candle on the jar lid and until you feel satisfied

🎵 If needed blow out or snuff out flame

🎵 Store somewhere safe but nearby. In times of dire trouble take far in hands or arms, hold it close without damaging or risking break to it and feel the energy from it enter you once more.

This is my first ever spell, a house protection bottle. I felt IMMENSE power and affirmation after making this yesterday.

To make this, I made oils out of:

60ml of carrier oil (I used almond oil)

5 drops of tea tree essential oil

5 drops of geranium essential oil

To assemble:

Pour in 1 tsp of rice into the small jar.

Cover with white table salt.

Cover with mix of oils.

Sprinke in some dried thyme.

I put this on the windowsill of the room where I sleep.

Directions |

🏹 reminder: every ingredient on here can be substituted or a few ingredients left out if wished to be so! Your intent & thought is what matters, darlings.

🏹 add everything into the jar in the order that feels right to you. I added it in the order of the ingredients listed above.

🏹 once everything is added, as you visualize you love magick flowing into the bottle & beginning to charge it with your intent, kiss the top of the jar’s cap to seal it. Then physically seal it with your candle wax!

🏹 bring the spell jar to hover over your lips & whisper a prayer or incantation above the jar. Set the jar down & lay the tarot cards against it; visualize the energy & magick from the cards flow into the jar. Then thank Eros for being there for you!

🏹 whenever you want to honor &/or bond more with Eros or want to evoke him, kiss the top of the spell jar to activate it! This is a cute way to activate the spell jar as Eros is known as the god of kisses hehe <3
