This is more of a broad rant, but why in mlm fics, the bottom always have to be cutesy patootsie? Not saying that the bottoms shouldn't be cute or whatever. But if the characters are the types of be more macho, why do their personality have to be rewritten as a girl just because in that fic, they're a bottom?

I used to read Larry fics a lot, and I preferred reading bottom Louis, but there are times where I read top Louis. AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE TWO IS INSANE, YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT YOU'RE READING ABOUT THE SAME MAN. But, legit though. Bottom Louis is always written with wearing a skirt??? Not being a hater here, I'm sure that man could rock a skirt. But being overly feminine? Hm. Maybe, maybe not.

Another example is my current fixation. Max Verstappen. I read a lot of bottom Max fics, and in the past, I used to read a lot of top Max fics. Why is it for the bottom Max, he's softened? I genuinely think that top Max's personality could still be put on bottom Max, there's no need to girlfy him just cause he's the one doing the taking and not the giving.

Same goes with Charles too, actually. Bottom Charles is so different that I couldn't bear to read them. Cause, of course this is my own taste, I prefer reading fics that is at least accurate to the people's personalities. People babygirl Charles so much that it genuinely irks me. But I suppose I understand since he's a pretty guy.

Another thing I really hate for the mlm bottoms are the trans fics. No hate to the trans people, of course. But if they have taken the top surgery, why would they not have taken the bottom one too? I know that most of the times, the fics are written like that is for more, i suppose, "good" smut to be written. But like…why? There's no need to make the bottom trans or feminine. I stand by that.

Only time I haven't noticed people changing the character's personalities is with Hannigram. Cause no matter who's on the bottom, both of them are crazy, and we love it

However, if that is how you write your fics, you do you, man. I'm sure others find it good.

Is it just me that I have a thing for Max voice? Like his voice is sooooo cute and his accent and the way he can’t spell the s properly. I think he purrs a lot when he’s with Charles and the first time he does this is when they’re fucking for the first time and he got embarrassed bc he wanted to act manly in front Charles but Charles loses his mind about the purring because it’s just so hot and cute. I like to think that Max thought that he’s gonna top but turns out to be the perfect cutest bottom with the cutest sounds when he’s being fucked

Yes love Max purring!! I think it would be super interesting if Max was adamant that he was a top because he (incorrectly) had the impression it was more masculine and he thought Charles would prefer that.

Perhaps Charles is the opposite where he think people want him to bottom because that is just what previous partners have wanted without really asking him. It's fine, it's just not his preference.

They end up admitting that they actually would like to try it the other way around... and then they never look back! Max absolutely loves bottoming and can't stop moaning the first time he tries it. He's shaking and grabbing hold of Charles and just really overwhelmed in the most amazing way. He also realises that bottoming has nothing to do with being less masculine or being submissive (although he realises that he happens to also love being a little submissive 👀)

I think quite often even when I write top Max, dom Max or alpha Max I can't help but make him nice and soft and sensitive.

Definitely the first few omegaverse Lestappen stories I read were alpha Max (which is totally fine, I mean I also write Max as an alpha sometimes) but I just love the idea of him being this sweet adorable omega who gets all the love in the world.
