Can’t believe we got confirmation that Lestat canonically bottoms/is vers. I literally never fucking lose
brother in christ, per canon Lestat is a he/him cis man, not to mention word of god says he tops. Now most have no problem with anyone switching but there's a cohort of people who stan feminized bottomstat and nothing else, and aggressively pushback on anyone who says otherwise. That's the root of the problem. The people who deluded themselves into believing it's canon by definition have a problem because they are peddling misinformation, like calling anti-femstat 'anti-trans' rhetoric, when Lestat isn't trans. There's plenty of celebs who explore their femininity but are straight and not trans. This leads to MAGA types falsely calling straight men gay, it's damaging and demeaning.
1. In what canon? Most of Anne’s vampires play with gender.
2. That’s simply false and a complete distortion of reality. Very few people actually like a feminized bottom Lestat. There are only a handful of us. We don’t attack anyone, we don’t use offensive language, we just quietly enjoy the show, the books, fanfiction, and art.
On the contrary, there’s a huge group of people who hate anything that deviates from a cisgender, almost heteronormative, hyper-masculine version of Lestat. Which is ironic, because that version of Lestat has never existed. Lestat has been a gender-nonconforming queer icon for over 50 years for a reason.
That group is extremely aggressive and hostile. It might not be as visible now, but just last year they were actively harassing writers and artists who created bottom Lestat content. They’re the ones making openly homophobic “jokes.” They constantly insist that bottom Lestat is weird, wrong, disgusting, and unnatural. No one in the bottom Lestat community has ever been against other interpretations. We enjoy bottom Louis, bottom Armand, and top Lestat. But this particular group doesn’t just dislike bottom Lestat, they react with intense hatred to even the simplest interpretation.
3. Lestat isn’t trans, but he isn’t cis either at least not to me. I’ve always seen him, in the books, the films, and the series, as a gender-nonconforming character. I’m sorry if that bothers you, but that’s my interpretation, and you’re always free to block me.
4. English isn’t my first language, so I may not have fully understood the last part. But I don’t think there’s anything insulting about calling a straight man gay, because there’s nothing insulting about being gay. Nothing damaging or demeaning. Again, what does that have to do with Lestat? Lestat isn’t straight.
happy loustat valentine's day💗🩸
🩷 What better way to celebrate than to read about Lestat and Louis making a sex tape? 🩷

On your first two points; The exact same things have happened to the other side of Loustat. Horrible threatening, racist messages, and one was recently chased off the fandom. I dislike femlou, but I'm only mentioning it because you're framing it as unique to femstat-ers. It's happened to both sides and it's all wrong. Iwtvtwt has become a hellscape because of this.
Louis has been called a housewife but he wasn't one. Lestat has been in touch with femininity but is predominantly masculine and patriarchal. You can personally interpret certain scenes if you wish; but plenty of people disagree and you can't invalidate them and attack them as transphobic, because he is not trans.
Surely if all vampires transcend gender, why is it only Lestat that is so predominately feminized?
Why isn't Claudia masculinized? The twins and Akasha, I've never seen anyone portray them as men?
This line doesn't hold weight when it only happens to one character; I interpret it as vampires transcending gender because their organs no longer work in the books, making them sexless. It's a different situation in the show. The bottom line is, Lestat is treated horribly by people claiming to be his fans and part of a wider issue of disregarding Lestat's character, trauma and masculinity and reframing it -for who know why, I'm not them-. Including most recently trying to frame Magnus and Lestat as a transactional encounter when it absolutely wasn't. Some even frame it as romantic, which is absolutely disgusting. Lestat is still terrified of Magnus. But some people find r*pe kinky and thus reframe their whole relationship.
On point 4, I guess you won't understand if you don't follow general politics. Misgendering plays into the conservative playbook, part of a wider smear campaign against left wingers, to the general public who are prone to dogwhistles. There's nothing demeaning about being gay, but here, it's insulting because of the intent. They degrade and demean SJW with attacks on their masculinity and misgendering them because they support LGBTQ+ issues and thus devaluing the causes they stand for.

I’m sorry that this is happening.

I disagree, but you’re entitled to your interpretation and I’m entitled to mine. I don’t accuse people of transphobia for not supporting headcanons of Lestat as a trans person. I call people transphobic when they say transphobic things about real people and use Lestat as a way to express those views. I genuinely don’t understand how, in 2026, people can still say things like “if you have muscles, you can’t be feminine.” That’s incredibly stupid and offensive.
Surely if all vampires transcend gender, why is it only Lestat that is so predominately feminized?
All the characters in this show are constantly feminized. You can see it in fan art, fanfiction, meta it’s completely normal. The only time it becomes an issue is when it’s Lestat being feminized. These anonymous messages are obvious proof of that. I never go after creators who feminize Louis or Armand. If I like their work, I enjoy it; if I don’t, I just scroll past. But you and many others, like I said, can’t just scroll past feminized Lestat you immediately start attacking.
Why isn't Claudia masculinized? The twins and Akasha, I've never seen anyone portray them as men?
I don’t know. But if you or someone else wants to do that, why not? Exploring gender is interesting, especially when it’s done respectfully.
This line doesn't hold weight when it only happens to one character
I was talking about Lestat. My post was about Lestat. Lestat is my favorite character. What exactly is unclear here?
Including most recently trying to frame Magnus and Lestat as a transactional encounter when it absolutely wasn't. Some even frame it as romantic, which is absolutely disgusting.
People can ship whatever they want, even the darkest things. Yes, even incest, rape, or worse. I’m against censorship. I don’t ship Magnustat, but I can understand the interest in that dynamic. I know there are people who hate Lestat and laugh at what Magnus did to him. I know there are people who downplay it or say he deserved it. But I also know that what happened between Magnus and Lestat can be interpreted in different ways. And I know that people who approached this topic respectfully, who explored it from literary, historical, or psychological perspectives, have been attacked and harassed. I’m absolutely sure that even the darkest shipper who enjoys the most toxic, awful content would still be a better person than all these hypocritical puritans.
On point 4, I guess you won't understand if you don't follow general politics.
Well, thank you so much for explaining obvious things to me. I guess you decided to educate me just because I mentioned that English isn’t my native language.
Misgendering plays into the conservative playbook.
Yes. And that’s exactly what you’re doing right now. I haven’t seen a single scene in the show or read a single page in the books where Lestat looks straight at the audience and says, “I am a cisgender man.” But I have read plenty of pages where Lestat reflects on gender again and again. And I’ve seen several moments in the show where Lestat refers to himself as “she.”
Again, Lestat is a character. I can explore gender through him however I want. I can have whatever headcanons I want. In my interpretation, Lestat can be anything. And if that bothers you, that’s not my problem.
My original post literally said you could just block me. But you saw fem Lestat and bottom Lestat and immediately ran into my anon messages. I’m out of patience and politeness. I don’t know why Lestat’s pronouns scare you so much. I don’t know why Lestat’s hole scare you so much. But if it upsets you this much, then the problem is with you. Just block me and deal with your own issues.

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Interview with the Vampire (TV 2022) Rating: Explicit Summary:
Lestat holds his gaze as the warm load slides down his throat, penetrating Louis's unguarded mind again— How would he fuck you? I'd fuck him, actually— Louis responds, the tip of his left fang peeking through his blood-stained lip. He bites down on it, like drawing his own blood can temporarily satiate him. Lestat sees right through it. Those pupils bleeding into that radiant ring of green, darkening with each breath. Lestat smirks, saying out loud. "Even better."
What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than making a sex tape? It's for revenge, they say.
