Me, him. Then.
Hullo, so I’m here to have fun and escape my everyday life through the hobby of obsessing over problematic vampires. If you hated this season of the vampire Lestat more than anything in history, and you love to hate on it or complain about it a lot, fair dos, but I don’t wanna see it so please block me. I don’t want to see your negativity and you probably don’t want to see my persistence positivity so it’s best for both of us. Our opinions differ and that’s fine, let’s preserve our peace.
And if you think it’s ok to harass, threaten, or target anyone for either creating or enjoying a tv show, find it funny, or encourage others to do so, that is not ok and please double block me because I don’t want to ever hear from you and you need to go to therapy.
Thank you 🙏
"Get out," I whispered. The word trailed off and suddenly my voice swelled again. "Get out," I said. And again my voice didn't stop. It merely went on until I said the words again with shattering violence: "GET OUT!" — THE VAMPIRE LESTAT, Anne Rice
Official episode posters from The Vampire Lestat (2026)
Said I looked splendid in it.
this barbie has the blood of akasha in her 💖🩸
(Pls reblog to support a small artist! 🫶)
i think the show's exploration of fanatical obsession within stan culture this season wrt lestat and his fans and haters is so interesting because of how different their obsessions run and where they stem from yet how it all still ultimately leads to same end point of extreme levels of violence against their obsession (which often includes sexual violence as well.)
like, there's magnus who was so "in love" with lestat that he stalks, abducts, rapes, kills, and forces him to become a vampire. there's the fang gang that hates lestat so much due to an obsession with armand and the great laws that they attempted to kill him—and given how graphically violent and sexual their shrine of hatred to him was along with harassing him at the urinals while inviting him back to their place and using baby jenks to drug and have sex with him as part of their plan to kill him, i don't think it's exactly outside of the realm of possibility that they planned to rape him as well (or again, given how extremely dubious the circumstances of the threesome with baby jenks in the elevator was.) and then with the last episode, there's the conspiracy theorist, vampire truther that was brushed off in the first episode of the season only to return in this one, trying to prove that lestat is a vampire by shooting him multiple times.
like, it's a whole wide range of how far—and violent—obsession can go (and it makes me wonder what might be coming next.)
potato quality spoilers for TVL 7 pt 1. (For all my genderstat enjoyers)
updated to be less potato with a splash of loustat
it’s a fantastic day to be a genderstat truther btw
Hello I am here in the wake of episode 7 to say:
GENDERSTAT IS CANON, LESTAT DE LIONCOURT IS OUR GENDERFLUID QUEEN, THE GENDERSTAT BRIGADE NEVER FUCKING LOSES
I apologise for how insufferable I am about to be, except I'm not sorry at all.
THE VAMPIRE LESTAT 03.07 | "The Failures"
After all these years of hearing the same tired arguments, I'm done putting up with this. For years, certain people, including some who call themselves Lestat fans kept insisting that Lestat isn't genderfluid or GNC. It was always the same excuses: it's just how the language works, Lestat wasn't talking about himself, Lestat was mocking someone else, and countless other attempts to dismiss or explain away Lestat's gender. And now, all of a sudden, everyone's talking about how Paul was homophobic. How convenient.
I used to think Louis's family was perfectly loving and accepting, and that Lestat ruined everything. (Yes, that's sarcasm.)
Lestat was always talking about himself. Not about the city. Not about other people. She was always her.
I understand why people who hate Lestat would reject a genderfluid, GNC character. But what I don't understand is why people who call themselves Lestat fans seem to hate that girl.
Did Armand deserve an apology from Louis? Fuck no. But Louis saving both himself and Regina through empathy and compassion for the monster that Armand is - that was beautiful to me.
"What Armand did to Louis wasn't fair! He didn't deserve an apology!"
Mmm, yeah? That's the point? Armand is the antagonist? He is crazy? He is a villain?
Lestat did not kill Paul.
The exact line in the TVL ep7 is "You are all here tonight because I murdered you, made you, or memorably traumatized you."
Paul fits into the latter category. Also, it was already covered in s01e06 that Lestat had nothing to do with Paul's death PLUS interviews with cast and crew at the time reiterated that Lestat wasn't lying about that PLUS Anne always maintained that Lestat had nothing to do with Paul's death in the books, either.
The Vampire Lestat (2026), s01e07 "The Failures"
If people can't even deal with Armand who's always been exactly like this
how are they going to deal with Akasha a queen of genocide and rape whose ideology is eerily similar to TERF ideology? 🤔
At first I was horrified and hated Armand for what he did to Louis. But then… Assad is truly incredible. Even that brutal torture scene ended up almost making me cry. Poor Louis… Everything he went through was absolutely horrifying.
Lestat. My girl. My baby. My beautiful angel. Lestat and Paul said the exact things people have sent me anonymous hate messages over, lol.
Seven episodes I can’t believe we have to wait another two years 😭😭😭
