TL;DR forbidden love meets two emotionally unavailable people.

In all seriousness, though, I loved the FMC and MMC. I also loved the glimpse of dual POV at the start of each chapter.

The first half of the book felt like we were all in on an inside joke that Misery was clueless about. I found that humorous though. The hint of dual POV was also very pleasant - it left me wanting just the right amount without tearing my heart out as Misery couldn't figure out that she is the mate :)

ngl the knot shit threw me for a loop though. I think my brain kind of just chose to ignore it- since I was like, is this controversial? Is this verging on dog porn? But also like, monster porn is a thing and werewolves ARE based off wolves/dogs.. so like is it weird? Am I just projecting? IDK. Perhaps I didn't realize what the omegaverse entails.

While I don't have anything crazy to say, since I feel like it paced perfectly into a clean, calm resolution - I did stay up until like 3am reading this, so I feel like that is a good indication of my enthusiasm while reading.

Ch 31 Bride

Okay. I feel stupid. Why did I think the 2nd book would continue-

-to be about Lowe and Misery? I speedran the book, under the assumption that I'd soon get more of them in book 2. And then I had a duh moment where I realized, when has Ali ever done that. For some reason the fantasy genre gave different vibes I guess?

But now I am at the epilogue, and am sad. Although the conclusion is good, so.. I'll let it slide.

Ch 25 Bride

oh COME ON. Enough of your self sacrificing hero-

-bullshit. The post-nut clarity was too hard. LOWE LITERALLY WANTED TO CLAIM HER VIA HIS CUM ON HER BACK, LIKE.... YOU CAN'T JUST 180 AND GASLIGHT MISERY LIKE THIS.

I need to know why, and I need to know now. Because I feel like this was extremely vulnerable of Misery to come out with- especially with her upbringing. And even if he wants what is best for Misery, I feel like gaslight would actually just send her spiraling to never get close to anyone again.
