farewell, diesel-hauled intercities in germany :(
togay was the last planned trip of an intercity hauled by the legendary db class 218…
it is also one of the last intercity services featuring the classic single decker carriages as they will be replaced by double-decker carriages hauled usually by the db class 147 (as seen in the background) or the ice l hauled by the db class 105.
the last services by the old intercity carriages are planned to cease end of september. this will probably also mark the end of operations for the db class 101.
