I was looking at this old "50 things to do after school" book I took from school eons ago and found a perfect activity to monsturize for Lucy, Simon, Stacy and the other monster kids: Color Me Slimey, where you use colored slime (cornstarch and water in the book) to paint. The kids here are using Blobby's slime instead.

SHOCK, HORROR! Multiple incidents have been cited of huge holographic phantoms of luminescent light and color attacking cities! Only dispelled by excessive application of heat; cold or electricity; these entities are terrifying enigmas in the world of kaiju, seemingly acting in “looped” behavior patterns and exhibiting behaviors that do not appear to correspond to any physiological or psychological needs; several differently-shaped “archetypes,” most notably the vicious “angel”
While erattic in appearance enough to slip under the radar due to larger events occurring in this time, the actions of these enigmas appear to be escalating. But, out of this chaos a pattern emerges, incidents clustering more and more frequently to an area of ocean. And thusly, two of the greatest fighters of titans (The ones not otherwise occupied with; ahem; other mattters at least) Playboy Rumble and Malorel, were sent after the events of their narratologies to find the source.
And what they found was most bizarre, what seemed to be an alien city of solidified light in the middle of an ocean, surrounding a strange blue meteor, with strange non-humanoid “inhabitants” made of this same light being consistently attacked by the vicious “hologram kaiju” all at once.
But, through investigation, and some “inhabitants” seemingly more solidly-formed than others, a tragic history emerged.
They were once a great and powerful but planet-locked species, whose planet had never had kaiju but who did not need them, for they lived in peace with their environment by virtue of their psychically-powered technology. This all changed when “those beyond” attacked in a vicious war; the likes of which the Beyonders had not faced by a species without kaiju.
The story is too long and complicated to list here, but it ended in the best and brightest of that species; the ones who fought hardest against the invaders, being rendered down both from pragmatism and vengance; into a great psychic superweapon; one kaiju made from hundreds of traumatized minds.
But, they escaped, and formed a shell around themselves. Trapped to live out its trauma in the form of these recurring manifestations of the creatures; some long dead; even when they found a world away from this war.
But, they were able to convince the creature that they would be safe here, that there were people willing to listen and care and help it. And, as the kaiju from trauma converged to attack, as suddenly as they came, they slowly faded away. And the creature, of neural tissue, awoke from its shell like an egg...
Neuro-Idiom (The closest it can translate) is essentially a walking mass of neural tissue with all psychic powers writ-large, capable of telekinesis, psychic perception and control; pyro/cryo/fulgur/bio kinesis, any you can imagine on a kaiju scale.
Of course, it takes skill to work with such, which it is only slowly getting a handle on how to use, working with the remnants of thousands of shattered minds. They ended up in Echidna Island, of their own volition, to get a handle on their trauma, though they did play a unique role in the war against the Beyonders when they did come. But that is for its own story...

So, yeah, this is my entry for @tyrantisterror‘s ATOM contest!
This was my attempt at a monster that was trying to balance the idea of a trippy monster based around mental trauma with the classic monster movie style of ATOM, and I think it came out pretty well!
It helps that I did take some influence from The Monsters Of The Id and the Fiend Without a Face, which I hope y’all dig! And, dangit, the use of them in this narrative reminds me, one of these days I need to re-draw those kaiju from that previous contest. For another time...
The power of the angels is tempting to many mortals, even if they may not understand it. The strength of the heavens could do anything, from performing miracles, to changing the world itself. Even the smallest bit of it could allow one to do anything, be it ruling a kingdom or destroying one. With such a power at their side, many would believe that nothing could go wrong. How could one fall when the angels stand by their side? Though they know the possibilities that come from the blessings of angels, they do not truly know its origin. The power of the angels is not a tool that can be handed off, or a bit of mana that is transferred from one vessel to the other. The energy they bestow upon one is a piece of themselves, a mere fraction of their soul placed within the body of those they bless. From this fragment flows the heavenly power, as the user wields the very spirit of an angel. Their miraculous feats and impossible strength will draw from this slumbering piece, feeding off its endless potential. Little do they know, though, that such a sleep is not eternal. Going too far and draining too much may disturb its sweet slumber and their greed will begin their own end. In that fateful moment, the angel will wake up. Separated and confused, that fragment will feel the mortal flesh that imprisons it and know disgust. The bodies of mortals is no place for the shattered mind of a god, and it will seek change. Man may be able to contain the slumbering power of an angel, but when such an energy truly awakens, their bodies swiftly change from a blessed vessel to a reviled prison. Here is what remains of a lord who hungered for knowledge. He sought to expand the mind, to learn more than any tome or scroll could provide. He wished to solve the ancient mysteries and usher his people into a new age of knowledge and wisdom. With the power of the angels, he found libraries that were made by inhuman hands, with tomes that were filled with the language of the stars. He sought to devour these lost halls of primordial wisdom, but his inferior flesh held him back. The sea of knowledge that stood before him was too much for his mind to handle, as no man can bear such a burden alone. His greed refused to abandon such a treasure, and in the end, he ignored the very logic that he had worshiped. Now these ancient chambers sit barren and stripped, holding only a single, bound inhabitant. The power that once gave wisdom and insight had given in to greed and id. It had devoured the books that lined these walls, and when its inferior brain grew saturated and worthless, it turned to consuming its fellow man. Mind after mind, brain after brain, it filled these stolen vessels as it sought to hold the infinite knowledge of the universe. At the end of it all, it succeeded in holding all that the great halls had offered, but such a success was soon found to be nothing. The weight of its mind had grown too heavy, and its forsaken body would never move again. The halls that were believed to hold the key to mental freedom now served as an empty, crude prison. Even the gathered knowledge of the heavens came to nothing. The many swollen minds and alien words had long since drowned the old lord. What thoughts he once had were now lost within this endless sea. What use is infinite knowledge, when there is no man left to even wield it?
