Bramblefake Theories

Spoliers for The Broken Code, Squirrelflight’s Hope and Graystripe’s Vow Excerpt!

So... it is widely thought that Ashfur is possessing Bramblestar’s body and I’d just like to point out a few reasons why...

1. He has blue eyes like Ashfur (both Bristlefrost and Shadowsight point this out)

2. He is obviously attached to Squirrelflight (mourns her death and is more forgiving to her)

3. His whole codebreaker crusade I am curious to know more about, but it makes sense why he persecuted Jayfeather and Lionblaze (jealous that they are Squirrel’s foster kits with Bramblestar)

4. Banishes Alderheart (again, Bramble x Squirrel kit)

5. Tries to kill Sparkpelt (Bramble x Squirrel kit, also the prey trail is so similar to what Tigerstar did with the dog pack and Ashfur lived through that)

6. Knows cats like Lion and Jay, but messes up Dewnose’s name (makes sense because he died before Dewnose was born, but must’ve been alive for Lion and Jay)

7. Some foreshadowing in Squirrelflight’s Hope (it wasn’t very hardcore, but she talked to Hollyleaf about how it must be weird for Ashfur to be in Starclan with her)

8. Ashfur’s attitude in Graystripe’s Vow excerpt (seems like the Erins want to use this to make it seem more likely that Ashfur has it in him to be evil, as he berates Gray and also talks bad about Firestar for leaving)

9. Need I mention he helped Hawkfrost try to kill Firestar (he has it in him to be a bad cat)

10. Being in Starclan gave him access (although we do not yet know what is going on with the Starclan thorn and bramble trap in the Dark Forest, it obviously makes sense that Bramblefake would be behind it. Also makes sense that it would not be a Dark Forest cat because most of the more infamous ones are gone, and Ashfur had access to make trouble for Starclan by being an actual Starclan cat)
