I know a lot of fans wanted to see Riley with Valentina, and I'm not trying to drag that ship at all, but just hear me out on this:

Bree and Grace are Riley's people. They were the first to treat her with kindness as the new kid at their school. They'd been tight-knit for years by the time the events of IO2 began. The beginning of Riley's anxieties was the news that they weren't going to be going to the same school. Bree and Grace are devastated when she doesn't join the same hockey team as them at camp, and when they think she's trying to cut them out. Riley has a panic attack because she thinks she injured Grace on the ice, and she and Bree are the first people to show up to help her through it.

These three girls are -- from a storytelling perspective -- each other's motivations. In-universe, they're each other's constants, to the point that losing each other is among the worst things that could possibly happen to them."

Thank you, thank you for the prompt (and for all of your kind words about my writing). I hope this hits the spot! Nothing super spicy but Mason does do some pondering on how he feels with Bree.

Tasting Their Smile - Bree/Mason

Over the years, sex has been many things to Mason. Mostly it’s been fun. There have been times when it’s been like the quick flame of a match, burning bright but fleeting, or other times it’s been slow, deliberate and teasing, intentionally drawn out for pleasure or frustration. One thing it’s never been is lazy.  Although perhaps lazy isn’t the right word. Easy? Comfortable? The thoughts and feelings twist in his head until he brushes them aside to focus on what’s happening now. And right now he’s laying in bed with Bree.

It’s become a familiar spot, and almost as familiar are the freckles and scars that dot Bree’s body. He’s coming to know them all, which ones bring back tense memories that she doesn’t reveal and which ones make her melt under his sensitive touch. He’s exploring now, placing slow kisses across her skin, taking note of how she responds to each new spot. 

There’s a casualness to it all, but not in a careless way. Bree rests with her hair fanned out on the pillow, one arm raised above her head, her eyes shut, and a contented smile on her lips. She doesn’t watch, doesn’t worry, she trusts him with her body in a way that’s both comforting and terrifying to him.

His trail of kisses moves up her body until he finds the spot on her neck that always makes her back arch against him and pulls a soft moan from her throat. 

“You’re so fucking good, sweetheart,” he whispers into her ear. 

He feels the smile that presses her cheeks against his before she speaks, “You’re not too bad yourself, sunshine.”

In a flash he shifts so that he’s straddling her but she doesn’t flinch at the quick movement, she stays calm beneath him, the teasing smile still challenging him. He looms over her, his hair hanging down in curtains that block out everything except the other’s face. “Are you saying you want me to be better?” he leans down and pulls her bottom lip between his, teeth raking gently over the skin, “or worse?”

Bree’s fingers tangle into his hair, pulling him into a deeper kiss, and that’s all the answer he needs.
