LMAO ngl I was like "which one" then realize I did not specify Ratio was in any of the others. Even if he is. These guys are everywhere. But YES infiltrating a party!! I like...dragging Ratio out of his element. It's very fun. I think I went through a rough social function and just started working on this.

Extra fun because!! Aventurine IS in his element here! He's right at home! So him being able to walk the self assured doctor through this nonsense is just. Immensely entertaining to me. I'll put a page below the cut!!

As for Dan Heng...not written at all but lives in my head rent free always. Amphoreus spoilers. I like to think he goes hypervigilant after crashing on Amphoreus and trailblazer heckin dies????? 2 minutes in??? Except he doesn't. Didn't. (My trailblazer is male named Orion so forgive the pronouns) He's right here in front of him. Dan Heng cannot let his guard down ever again or he might actually die. Too careless. Mortals are too fragile (Dan Feng trauma starts seeping in too...)

He researches like crazy, trains, what have you. He barely sleeps ever. Enter Phainon. Who. Also sucks at resting ever. Orion figures! Why not get 2 birds with one stone? So he like. Challenges Phainon to see who can hold Dan Heng down the longest?? Or something????? Idk the specifics. The thing is, though, Phainon is a living furnace (hi, cold blooded dragon boy dan heng headcanons here) , and very amiable and chatty. Just laying on Dan Heng and forcing him to not move is a very effective weighted blanket actually, and he's out in moments LMAO

Except!! Now Phainon is stuck here!! What if Dan Heng wakes up if he moves?? Oh no!! Orion is content to chat, but Phainon dozes off soon too, no longer able to keep doing deliverer things. He's just a Very TIred Guy trying to help his friends.

And Orion is triumphant. ANd happy his friends are finally resting :)

It's just a cute little thing I think Phainon and Dan Heng should interact more on screen please and thank you-

But also Mario's party is like. A big cast of characters to juggle and I'm intimidated. It's not written at all exactly because of this. But I'm marinating on it. Something about every partner apologizing in their own way, asking if Mario is ok, and him saying of course!! They didn't know!! Of course he's okay, it's all over!!!!!

Spoiler alert, he's not. Lol. IDK if even he realizes it. But perhaps the others do. Vivian would. She recognizes the aborted flinches, just the *anxiety* of wanting to trust people close to you but being hurt by them...now. Mario's party is not AT ALL like her sisters but. Still. Still. It'd hurt, wouldn't it?

Also as you'd know, getting Mario Mario to admit to struggling is like pulling teeth so I'm spinning him at high speeds until further notice JHSFKJHSK

A fic for the aftermath of the fight with Phantylia, written before I played patch 1.3. All went more or less according to Jing Yuan's planning, but even he didn't quite forsee how...difficult the fallout would be.

All relationships in this fic are purely platonic, thank you!

Five figures stand at the edge of the Ambrosial Arbor, deep in conversation. Heavy mists float lazily in the air as one of the figures lets out a heavy sigh.

“Phantylia…a truly fearsome enemy,” Jing Yuan says, placing a hand against his ringing head in an attempt to relieve some of the pressure there. There’s a strange, faint buzzing noise…“If she hadn’t attempted to turn me into a pawn of Destruction, I’m afraid victory would have been far from certain…” 

The general trails off as he sways before the others present, and Dan Heng’s arms twitch upward as if without thought. Jing Yuan notices this and removes his hand, straightening back to his full height and mustering a wry smile. “Phantylia had established a link between me and herself,” the general says, nodding toward Dan Heng. “Your well-timed strike gravely injured her —thus, her connection to the Arbor was severed.”

Febuwhump Day 25: Help now, questions later (Bloody Clothes)

Summary: Aftermath of Vash’s “talk” with the Plant in episode 7. That stuff’s my jam.

“Vash-!” is all Meryl can squeak out before the room rings out with a heavy  ka-   thunk of a body crashing to the metal floor.

“Needle-noggin, what the hell–’’ Wolfwood hisses, shaking himself out of his own stupor and rushing towards the tangled heap of limbs. Vash lays unmoving, his form sprawled beneath the large red coat, facedown, glasses smashed against his face. Meryl follows close behind the undertaker, her worry for Vash winning out over her fear of the unknown, of the  alien  feeling pervading the room.

“Newbie-“ Out of the corner of her eye, she catches Roberto reaching out for her. She dodges his grip, shaking her head.

“He’s hurt!” she retorts, barreling forward after Wolfwood. She remembers blood on Vash’s clothes, staining his cracked prosthetic, smudged on his face. His expression before falling…it didn’t look good. He’d looked distant, vacant, almost like a lost child. She didn’t know what was happening, didn’t know what to make of the glowing markings and the strange….Plant….being pressing up against the glass.

Febuwhump day 2: Flinching (Get in the car, Loser, we're going to July City)

Summary: After watching Vash get kicked out of town, and after doing all they can, Meryl can't let him just...go alone. Not like this. So she and Roberto chase him down. (Missing scene from the end of Episode 3 and before episode 4)

 Meryl’s eyes scan the horizon, her lips pursed in frustration. Nothing but sand and stars as far as the eyes can see.

 “How can one man walk so fast…” she grumbles, leaning out the window to perhaps find something at a different angle. Roberto, at the wheel for once, just snorts.

 “The townsfolk told him to get out of dodge, so he did. No reason to stick around after that,” he responds, eyes trained steadily ahead. Meryl huffs, leaning further out the window as if to prove a point. The van suddenly swerves, making her yelp and duck in for a second. She glares at the man as he gives her a raised eyebrow. “You’ll fall out.” Meryl rolls her eyes at him, getting up on her knees to peer out the window again, more carefully this time.
