Pffff 28 hours? Melbourne to London isn’t even that long :p Unless you’re flying some weird ass route or going backwards or something lol

You forget I'm in Perth bb. Everything takes longer from Perth. Perth to Rio took me 25 hours, and our stopovers (there were three of them) only came out to two hours, the rest was flight time. Chicago would be the same-ish, depending on whether you transfer through Japan (like my sister-in-law prefers to do) or attempt the Pacific in one go (which Qantas don't offer any more flights to LA so you'd have to shop about).

Perth adds 4-5 hours on sweetcheeks, depending on the wind. If the wind is shit it can take longer. Longest flight I ever had between the two was 5 hours 45 minutes thanks to turbulence.
