Cam Schlittler , a rookie pitcher who just came up from AAA, to fill in the hole in the pitching rotation left by Clarke Schmidt's need for Tommy John's surgery, just left the game after a brilliant performance!! I don't know why he was taken out of the game. He only had 75 pitches, and he just struck out Cal Raleigh, the player with more home runs than Aaron Judge, for the 3rd time. Now, Loasiga gives up a 2 run homer with his first pitch to Randy Arozarena. Unbelievable!! Once again, Aaron Boone and his bad decisions are threatening the Yankees lead. Schlittler should've stayed in to finish the inning, but NOOOOOOO. Aaron Boone has to go!! He's a horrible manager. Schlittler was the pitcher of the year in AAA, and he was doing a great job in his debut in the majors. Why does Boone take out the players who are doing well and leave in the players who are not? Buy a clue, Boone!! Please. I miss Joe Torre. He was a great manager who knew how to treat his players and when to play them. We need a manager like that again. Immediately....
Cam got a loud standing ovation as he left the field. It was well deserved!! He should be very happy and proud of what he did on the mound tonight. Too bad Aaron Boone didn't have faith in him, although he gave him every reason to have faith in him. Welcome to the Show, Cam!!! Brilliant debut!!!
Cal Raleigh looks completely confounded after Cam strikes him out again. I don't blame him. No one knew what the kid would do, but he showed us all that he's got some really good stuff!! Way to go, Cam!!! 😁😍
LET'S GO, YANKEES!!!!!
Play for Today: Edna, the Inebriate Woman (1971)
Written by Jeremy Sandford, this drama was one of the first - and in my opinion one of the finest - TV productions to tackle the subject of homelessness. Patricia Hayes is absolutely brilliant in her role as the troubled Edna and was deservedly rewarded with a Best Actress award at the British Academy Television Awards.
The drama is available in full on YouTube
"It is with considerable difficulty that I remember the original era of being: all the events of that period appear confused and indistinct. A strange multiplicity of sensations seized me, and I saw, felt, heard, and smelt, at the same time; and it was, indeed, a long time before I learned to distinguish between the operations of my various senses... "Soon a gentle light stole over the heavens, and gave me a sensation of pleasure. I started up, and beheld a radiant form rise from among the trees... No distinct ideas occupied my mind; all was confused. I felt light, and hunger, and thirst, and darkness; innumerable sounds rung in my ears, and on all sides various scents saluted me: the only object that I could distinguish was the bright moon, and I fixed my eyes on that with pleasure...I was benevolent, my soul glowed with love and humanity, but am I not alone, miserably alone? - ‘Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus’ by Mary Shelley
