As Domestic Violence awareness month (October) approaches I have been thinking about what I can create to bring more awareness and help to our communities. This is the beginning of my idea that I know can help to inform and save lives. I am going to create Purple Hearts with the contact information for the National Domestic Violence Hotline. This way no matter where you are in the U.S. you can get help and resources. So many of us work in environments where we have desks and others get to see what we put on them. Imagine having a customer, co-worker or student who comes up to your desk/workstation and notices this lifesaving information. They might come back and write the # on a piece of paper because their abuser goes through their phone and snapping a picture of it is not an option. There are so many situations where this can help to save someone’s life or the life of a loved one.
