MOROCCO WHERE: EPCOT Food and Wine Festival 2017 This was before Traveling By Tastebuds was even a twinkle in my eye. During a trip I took kind of spontaneously to Disney World (my ex-boyfriend had just broken up with me and I was in a ‘screw it, I want to spend all my money to make myself feel better’ mood), I was able to try their triangle honey briwat at their Morocco pavilion. I was attempting to try a different food at every single country in the world, which was only a few months before I got the idea for Traveling By Tastebuds so the whole project may have been sparked by this trip. In fact, the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival I went to in 2010 with my mom and 2012 with my then-fiance were very much my inspiration for wanting to try new foods. Back then, I didn’t know how I would accomplish this, but look at me ten years later, tasting the world and everything! But back to the briwat-- it tasted like the typical middle eastern (though it’s in Northern Africa, but the Arabic roots go deep) baklava. Very sticky, very phyllo dough-y. A very quick bite while I watched the bellydancers shake their groove thing.
