Emergency Dental Procedure
Hey, guys. So, I’ve had some issues with my teeth for the last term years or so and haven’t been to the dentist in at least three years because I don’t have insurance. Well, I got a small financial aid refund last week and finally went to the dentist with the intention of getting a chipped tooth filled.
Come to find out, I need a root canal and two big fillings along with multiple small ones. I have the root canal scheduled for this Thursday (tomorrow) but they will only be able to do the first step.
Like I said, I don’t have insurance so I have to pay out of pocket for everything. The procedure totals $2989.60 but they are giving me a 20% discount because they enrolled me into their affordable dental care plan which brings the total down to $2391.91 but I still can’t afford that on my own. They’re working with me on the payments but they will only be doing the first step at the visit and that part alone is costing me exactly $1000 after the discount (originally 1414 and some change). I made a down payment of $300 after my appointment Friday and have to pay off the remaining $700 before they will do the next step and they’re going to take it $233 out of my account every two weeks until it is paid.
I don’t have an extra $233 a week to pay. If I did, I would be using it to save for my apartment after my lease is up or to pay off some of my debt. I thought of setting up a gofundme but I am 99% sure no one would donate because no one ever donates.
Please, if you have something to spare, I’m begging you. I have a cavity sitting directly on a nerve and that is why I am in so much pain. If they don’t do the root canal (including a crown at the end), I will lose the tooth. It’s my next to last bottom molar on the right side and that particular tooth (on both sides) is where we do 80% of our chewing. Even if I only raise enough to pay the initial $1000, that would be great.
Like I said, I’m not setting up a gofundme. I’m just going to include my PayPal and CashApp info. Idk how it works on there but I am also open to accepting donations on Snapchat. Or even using the Chase bank app.
Thanks for taking the time to read all this. Please reblog if you can’t donate and dknate if you can, even $5 adds up (only $700 from the first goal!). And for the love of God, brush and floss your teeth, people.
