It’s hard growing up not having healthy role models that share your same body composition. I’m sure I’m not the only person who felt that way, either. Society called me to fulfill standards I couldn’t meet, no matter how hard I tried (and I tried so hard that I developed eating disorders, depression, and anxiety, the latter of which from feeling like I was always being judged, and that I was never going to be good enough). This post is outside of the realms of what I usually post on here, but I think it’s important to show that beauty isn’t just in the women and girls you see in magazines, on the runways, on tv, in movies, etc. I think bodies are in the truest form of beautiful when they’re nourished and healthy. Love yourself, girls. Do not limit yourselves to what society deems is “Beautiful”. Shower your body in love, grace, patience, and kindness instead of judgement, hatred, and unrealistic standards. It’s amazing how this mindset will throw society’s standards on its head. At the end of the day, you have you, flesh, bones, brain, heart, soul, and all. Nourish each part and you’ll be surprised how your perceptions change.
Here I am, a 🍐shaped woman, and I wouldn’t wish it any other way. 💕 //
