Renee was a top news broadcaster when her whole life (and career) came tumbling down thanks to her husbands (very public) affair with their live-in Nanny and the messy divorce that followed. Wanting to hide from the public eye while she tries to heal her wounded pride, she drags her kids from city life to the rural town of Sims Creek where she’s been offered a job running the town’s flagging newspaper.
“It’s not fair!” seems to be the only words coming from Bronson’s mouth lately. He still hopes his dad will fight to get custody of him and he can go back to his friends in Bridgeport. This country life is for the birds!
Deidre had secretly known about her dad’s affair for months but was scared to tell her mom. She doesn’t know how to feel about the divorce, all she knows is the only person to ever show her any kind of affection is out of her life. Without her fancy career getting in the way, Deidre wonders if her mother will finally have time for her.
Soon enough, I was “back on my bullshit” as the kids say. (Am I that old to be saying “as the kids say”? Maybe.) Sure, it’s a bit weird trying to seduce an older guy, but all I was in it for was a brief commitment before a good ol’ “sayonara”!
