One thing I absolutely adore about The Mentalist is the episode titles.

Every episode up to 06x08 has a red themed title, whether that be the actual word red, a shade of red, or something that is red. (I.e. Fire and Brimstone, Strawberries and Cream, so on).

It isn’t until 06x09 (My Blue Haven) that the red puns stop. This is because in the previous episode, Patrick Jane has finally killed the man that murdered his wife and child; Red John.

Ever since his family was killed, Patrick’s life was completely and utterly consumed by finding Red John, hence why every title leading up to the final confrontation is related to red; it’s all Patrick has been focused on. After Red John is dead, Patrick’s life is no longer centred around finding him and the episode titles reflect that (though they still keep the color theme, they’re no longer red).

I find it incredibly clever and I will never shut up about it.

The pilot for Gotham aired on September 22, 2014. The pilot focused on the detectives James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) investigating the murder of Thomas (Grayson McCouch) and Martha Wayne (Brette Taylor). This death would eventually lead Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) to become Batman. It was released the same year as other DC properties The Flash and Constantine. ("Pilot" Gotham, TV Event)

My family is rewatching The mentalist and I decided to Google what Bruno Heller has been up to since I love it so much, only to find out he also did Gotham (a show I absolutely ADORE) ans his latest one was Pennyworth!!

Man doesn't miss!! Just amazing show after amazing show!!!
