Lately I’ve been in a BSA mood again! So, I’ve been talking to an old friend from scratch, @crowfrombackdoor, and together we’ve reworked her OC, Lina! Lina is a Snapdragoon Monstah from the country of Tulgurezon. She is a gentle giant who got most of her scars from simple mistakes rather than through combat. She loves helping other Monstaz, and is always happy to lend a hand... er... paw, to those in need. She’s actually a little more catlike than I tend to draw Snapdragoons nowadays, but I wanted her design to stick close to the head drawing Crow sent me. (Crow if u wanna reblog this w/ said drawing please do!)

I think now would also be a good time to talk about transforming Monstaz! Snapdragoons aren’t really known to transform, but honestly since all Monstaz are technically the same species, I think it’s possible (plus it just looks cool LOL)! So essentially, transforming Monstaz are Monstaz who shift between 2 or more forms interchangeably, either due to environmental conditions, emotional changes, or even through sheer willpower. Though this is a new name for Monstaz of this type, if anyone remembers Scoops, he is also a transforming Monstah... err... Frizzie. 

Anyways, it was rlly fun redesigning Lina with Crow!! Maybe I’ll collaborate with them again to rework a different character of theirs? Probably, since I’ve actually doodled her character Ren a few times as well, just whenever I had free time in biology class lol. 

The insectoid design drawing took 1h 17m over the course of 2 days. I... wasn’t really counting for the standard design bc I thought it was gonna be a quick sketch & got carried away haha

Ft SEVERAL FRIZZYS, too many to name, in fact! (but I’m gonna do that in the tags anyway lol) All you need to know is that all of the Frizzys in the background have had chips planted in their minds, and Scoops is the only one who has not been chipped. 

also lol I really hammed this one up in terms of color and detail, hope it was worth it.

Inktober day 14- Overgrown!

Ft. Gardenia and Benny!

Gardenia was injected with a strange evolution serum, which allowed her to ascend from the achievable tier 1 stage to the previously impossible tier 2 stage! However, as Petalbeasts cannot evolve to tier 2, Gardenia is the only one of her kind, and quite the scary sight to any unsuspecting Monstaz seeing her pop out of the ground.

Ft. Hammond, a puppet that was enchanted to become sentient. As displayed, this process took some time before it actually worked...

Inktober day 15- Legend!

Ft. Stanley and Benny, and an unidentified Dandie from a legend that many residents of Monstarre believe in. The legend goes like this:

At the turn of the century, a young Dandie will rally his friends (a Noid, a Treesuit, a Chipuffle, and a Bunnybee) and go on a quest through Monstarre’s countries, uniting its people to achieve a common goal. Upon his visit to the last country, the Dandie will take his position as the planet’s defender and save them from an incoming alien invasion.

The only problem?

The Dandie mentioned in the legend is real.  And he failed his quest. But no-one knows that...

Scoopy bastard trying and failing to blend in with normal monstaz

Scoops is an alien that’s going to be featured in BSA season 2. He is a prime suspect for the kidnapping of one of the residents of Tulgurezon, the jungle land season 2 takes place in. The only problem is, he didn’t do it. In fact, none of the suspects Tulgurezon’s detective agency discussed were indeed guilty of the crime. Scoops was merely covering the tracks of a smarter, less well known alien, Corona. His signature ability is a form of camouflage, but it only works if he is shifting shape into something that produces chlorophyll like he does. He gets found out by Benny and co. when he has to follow them up a dead tree without them noticing. They knew there were no living leaves on that tall tree, but he didn’t.

Scoops tries his best as a villain, but ultimately he’s just too gullible to get the job done, and quickly gets booted off Corona’s team of agents. Too stubborn to help Benny and co, he opts to stay in Tulgurezon and find a way to live out the rest of his life without crime or drama from other monstaz or aliens.
