I’ve been screaming the past two days! Asagiri said shin soukoku rights. BSD Chat Anon are you here to scream with us?

But honestly, I’m especially proud of Akutagawa. I’ve said before he is my favorite character, and seeing him grow and intervene to save Atsushi not just because of Dazai’s plan, but for his own sake, is an important step not just towards redemption via empathy for Akutagawa, but through learning to overcome his self-hatred. I’ll probably write a meta on this once the chapter emerges.

As for Atsushi, it’s helpful for him now to see Akutagawa as something associated with hope instead of despair. Akutagawa tossing his leg back to him--while hilarious--is also a symbolic reversal of what happened when they first met and Akutagawa took Atsushi’s leg.

Their partnership is destined to heal, not to destroy. Not just themselves as individuals, but Yokohama.

For Dazai, it seems he realizes--to an extent at least--that he maybe sorta kinda hurt Akutagawa. A bit. It’s a step in his redemption as well, and I’m happy.
