bsd chapter 49...
Rereading Poe chapters so!!
Call me crazy but this scene tells me THREE fun facts about Poe i will be cosplaying as headcanons because I dont wanna misinform!!
I SWEAR, this shows Poe's history of being a sniper... i swear!! The way he was so easily able to track where Ranpo and Chuuya were in a scene which was blink-and-you'll-miss-it!? I think he only used the binoculars to see the shock on Chuuya's face and amusement on Ranpo's, otherwise I think despite the headcanons against this (Poe needs glasses) he has a keen eye, thus being able to view Karl.
Poe has trained Karl to pick up objects for him, and maybe even out of murder/crime scenes, Karl just watched 2 people disappear and simply grabbed onto the book.
Following onto that, Poe probably trained Karl to be gentle with anything he holds. I'm taking a bite out of "And all I loved, I loved alone" here and saying that Poe can minutely feel the paper's emotions and thus doesn't want to be victim to their screams.
Another TWO headcanons I'm going to gain from here.
This book challenges Ranpo, and seeing he wrote this for Ranpo the plot will be well written, aswell as Poe just being a haughtily behaving author who refuses to not give any detail its full justice (which we see when he's talking with Mushitarou, even if something falls into the broad idea of 'Mystery' if it doesn't reach his ideal, than it becomes null.) So I'M going to say, Poe believes his work is his right to live, YEA I KNOW THAT GOT INTENSE FAST, I LIKE IT THAT WAY.
Poe likes to take away his victims prized possessions, when writing, I'm going to say this is due to his past as a high ranked guild member, and his ability being good for interrogation(al torture) he learned to hold items hostage to not only convince the person he's getting info out of more-- but also because most people find comfort in their own items especially if they have history, if you remove that from them they get psychologically weaker.. we see this hear with Ranpo's glasses, AGAIN, being gone and so is Chuuya's hat.
If the weretiger is Akutagawa's ideal, then Poe's is Ranpo.
Poe is a madman, he was in a state of delirium due to the fact he became insecure from his defeat to Ranpo, this wasn't entirely because he thought of himself as second place, but also because Ranpo's words were mocking, even if they were to acknowledge Poe's intelligence, Poe is an author and knows second meanings, he see's no reason for Ranpo to have goodwill, he took the first meaning.
When Ranpo asked Poe to write more for him, and also explained that he was the only person whose smarts ever gave him-- someone who Poe see's as the one man preventing him from being the greatest-- chills. He got acknowledged, and now his reason for sanity is to continue getting acknowledged.
“I didn’t see value for your own life in your eyes.” “Why do you know about things like that?” “I know, because there once was a man with those same eyes.” “What happened to that man?” “The same as you. He met a certain person and joined a certain organization, and the hope for death in his eyes vanished.”
I was enjoying the BSD chapter 49 when this happened....
(Mini-spoiler....?)
I think I forgot how to breathe while reading this chapter. Okay. But what if Dazai gave the agency the heads-up that the enemy might use Chuuya's ability to their advantage? I mean, who would be surprised if Fyodor knows everything about everyone? Not me. Not us. What if it was in Fyodor's plans to use Chuuya's Tainted to wreak more havoc, and what if that was the reason why Ranpo let himself be trapped with Chuuya inside the book? Poe said that even Ranpo would take days to escape, what more if it was Chuuya? If Dazai was actually the one behind all these is2g-- (but I wouldn't be so surprised if he actually is). Dazai's protecting his boyfriend from harm for once.
BSD Chapter 49 Chuuya vs Ranpo Theory!
Okay, I’ve been holding back saying this for a few days but I finally wanted to say something because I see everyone thinking Chuuya’s gonna die in this, which I highly doubt! Because it would make no sense to kill Chuuya not in his character arc and when he still lacks a great portion of his back story. Anyways! So in chapter 49, Ranpo tricked Chuuya into going into Poe’s book withh him. I’m so proud of Ranpo :’)
Correct me if I’m wrong but inside the book neither of them have there abilities (Which doesn’t mean a thing to Ranpo sense he lacks one). But They’re stuck in a book with a bunch of Murder’s. So even if Chuuya lacks a ability he’s still top martial artist in the Mafia and will be just fine. BUT! To get out of this book you need to solve Poe’s mystery. Chuuya bless his heart, could never do that in about 1 million years.
And here we have Ranpo who can solve it, but even Poe says it’ll take him awhile to figure this one out.
So! Ranpo here while Chuuya lacks in brains, Ranpo lacks in strength, he can’t live on his own and figure out the mysteries when he’s a likely target to get sense he’s weak while Chuuya can defend himself just fine but no matter how long he lives in the book could never solve it.
I believe Ranpo will use Chuuya like a guard dog more or less, and Chuuya will use Ranpo for his brain for he could figure out the mystery while Chuuya fights for him.
So basically I figure what will happen will be they’ll have to team up, and by the time they get back into the normal world Dazai will be awake to nullify or do what ever must be done. And that’s my theory! I don’t believe either of them will die, but I do believe we might get a weird friendship out of this
Tell me your thoughts and correct me if i’m wrong!!
Thank you!
I FULL HEARTEDLY BELIEVE, that Poe upon writing those 500 murders, did not cut corners, i think if Chuuya were to actually interview them they would have an alibi, reasoning and each could be their own book, I DONT THINK Poe just wrote "Yea no, uh, Mark killed Fred because... he did."
THE WINNER 😭 TAKES 😭 IT 😭 AAAAAAALL 😭
