Okay, I have a well structured essay coming on this at some point but for now I have to get this off my mind.

I want more kunikida and Dazai partnership and I am convinced the only reason people prefer soukoku is because of the anime’s poor adaptation of Dazai’s entrance exam.

So many people have devalued kunikida, who was supposed to be one of the main characters, in favor of Chuuya who is meant to be part of Dazai’s past.

Kunikida and Dazai play off of each other and reflect one another in a way Soukoku can only dream of, and their relationship is a core part of each of their characters. Mersault was such a perfect opportunity to create a narrative foil not only with the plot of Dazai’s entrance exam but to expand on Kunikida’s character by putting him directly against fyodor.

Not to mention that putting Dazai with Chuuya undermines his growth and change as a person and character.

It is very explicit in the light novel that Dazai cares for Kunikida, and that they are perfect partners for one another.

I want to see more of them in the main manga, but there needs to be more demand for them. Please give them some love. Asagiri has stated before that he wants to write them together more.

Do you think after Dazai first took Akutagawa in he was like how he was in beast? Although much smaller given his age and the panels from chapter 122

Can you imagine this little cutie but even tinier dressed like a victorian child behaving how he did in beast. Do you think he tried to hide from Dazai by hiding under a table? Complained about the paperwork within the mafia? Had to learn to fix his writing? Thought he was the boss? Talked about eating bugs and paper? And just let himself be tossed around like a ragdoll?

He definitely had that rage and lashed out as he did in beast but it's sad nobody was there to quell it instead Dazai tried to correct his violence with more violence when really all he needed was stern but soft disabling and a stable environment

the closest organization to dazai and chuuya in europe right now, that still has ties to them, is shirase and the new group of sheep.

most everything else has to do with the government, and dazai technically just broke out of prison, so he’s pretty illegal. and, it seems like we haven’t gotten the full extent of shirase’s story yet (judging by what i just read from stormbringer, which is below)

Hey, so I want to point out one thing

Notice Fyodor's eyes. They lack this specific fuzzines hes always depicted with in two panels.

As we know, eyes are insanely important for characters in bsd. You know, for example how they might suggest if the character is telling the truth(Nikolai), or how they with akutagawa for example they were always that deep black(except a recent scene a few chapter ago(might be wring btw))

Any ideas on what it may mean here? My theory is that it means that fyodor genuinely has no plan here, because up to that point hes had quite a few aces up his sleeve. The only part that confuses me now is that this effect comes back in the last scene right before he closes his eyes, but maybe we can explain it by assuming Fyodors new plan is just dying now. (Only if he does in fact die for real now.) I think he wouldnt have said his last words "I hate you all" if he didnt at least think he was over.

Not enough people talk about how Tachihara actually, GENUINELY almost solo'd Fukuchi. He would have won if it wasn't for that STUPID TIME SWORD.

Imo a lot of BSD discussions are very optionated and not productive. A lot of people take two extreme sides and debate about that instead of coming to see other's perspective. My thoughts on BSD have changed so much since I started watching it because I let other people's ideas and perspectives change my own. You should always welcome and challenge new ideas to make them more complex.

For ex; "Dazai is evil and abused Akutagawa, he is the worst and should die" as well as "Dazai did nothing bad, everything is Mori's fault and he is a good person" can be two opinions, but NO ONE will reach common ground to the more complex answer "Dazai was a teenager when he committed those crimes, he should repent for what he did but also deserves a chance to grow and change" (I can confirm this, in both Reddit and Tumblr I didn't get much reaction when I made posts about Dazai's misunderstood character, not as much as I hoped at least)

Shipping discussions are on next level toxic, because of which I stopped being in that discourse. If I see anyone say "sskk are platonic" I won't get mad, cuz yeah, sometimes I also see them that way too. Why should I care what anyone else thinks about a ship I like. Skk's being hit with a lot of hate recently, which I completely understand considering what Asagiri said about them, but that doesn't mean people would stop shipping them. It is still the most popular pairing and what brought a lot of fans to bsd itself.

I stopped writing long posts about shipping, because no matter what I would say, someone will pick a bone with it. It's better to just make cute posts and jokes in your safe small community.

This is a fictional story. As a writer myself, I believe interpretation is the most important part of literature (NEVER takes things at face value, if you think a piece of literature is open to different interpretations, that means the writer intended it to be!); I don't care what I wrote, I would prefer it if people were able to make different interpretations of my writings. Bsd has a bunch of people with different opinions, but there is a lot of misinformation, mischaracterisation and toxicity that ends up killing these discussions.

Headcanons are valid, but not everyone will agree with them. The ships you like, might look like siblings to others. Your favourite character might get misunderstood or overshadowed. Yes, not everything has to be skk, but it is very hard to stop doing that when a lot of fans came to bsd for skk, you can't kill a fanbase overnight. (Ps: if you really hate a specific ship, block the tags! Don't call out the fans of said ship and go to war!!!)

I have always been Switzerland (neutral) in most discussions all my life, so maybe only I feel like this-------🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Nuanced opinions are always the best ones. Having extreme opinions and pushing them as truth to everyone else is not what BSD is about.

We have so many complex, grey, imperfect, deeply psychological characters, why should we see them as perfect angels or devils when they are neither?
