Oh my god the new Yosano SSR story is so good! Lemme summarize briefly (and check out her cute new outfit)
This is the story of Yosano and a litter of kittens.
Yosano is dreaming; she’s demanding that “sensei” should hurry up and save “him” - sensei can save anyone, so why isn’t he doing anything? “Sensei” tells her, “Yosano, the stray kitten you’re holding is already -“
Yosano wakes up and is annoyed at her dreams. It’s a day off so she decides to go to the bookstore in town to browse. She meets Kenji in the dorm lobby who tells her that he’s found a very pregnant stray cat on the school grounds that’s gonna give birth any day now, so he’s wondering what to do when they’re born. Yosano figures that she will check in the bookstore for something that will help them with kittens.
In the bookstore she is looking for books about treating cats, naturally, and finds a very complicated veterinary medicine guide. She’s considering this book when she runs into the science teacher Kajii-sensei, and both are a little annoyed to see each other on their days off. If I’m understanding this correctly, Kajii-sensei’s experiments caused a bomb scare at school and Yosano told on him to the school administration, so he’s mad his scientific progress is being impeded by small minds like hers. Yosano reminds him he’s supposed to be back at the school but he doesn’t wanna go. He’s getting very loud and excited about this in the bookstore when a voice interrupts them both.
Mori-sensei sternly tells Kajii-sensei to lower his voice, he’s in a bookstore. He also comments how unusual it is to see them getting along, which both deny. Kajii is overjoyed to see The Supreme Commander of The Universe (who apparently hired him) and is about to babble to Mori when Mori asks him if he doesn’t have some experiments to complete for him and he will look forward to the results. Kajii is overjoyed again and rushes back to the school to produce results for the Commander.
Mori apologetically explains that he IS a brilliant scientist…but what is Yosano doing there among the veterinary books? Yosano huffily says that vet medicine is not his field or his business.
Mori gently explains to her that if you are researching something out of your field of expertise, it makes sense to consult someone with more knowledge and experience than you do. Mori is a doctor - a former doctor - but at the very least he has more experience and knowledge than she does. He also would love to help her out if she’s in trouble, so won’t she tell him what’s wrong?
Yosano reflects on her dream of her childhood, where “sensei” had once told her,
“It’s irrational to treat someone who is already beyond saving. Prolonging the suffering of a life that cannot be saved is not healing; that’s arrogance.”
She considers this, and then tells Mori everything about the impending kittens and how she is worried about helping them. Mori listens, and then over her protests he skims the veterinary shelves until he finds the book he wants, which is a beginner’s guide to owning cats. (Kittens for Dummies?) He tells her that this is the kind of book she needs, not a vet medicine manual. He tells her to read the parts about feeding kittens. He also notes that sometimes kittens struggle to breathe as they transition from the womb; he recommends wrapping them in a towel and gently stimulating them to help them breathe.
Yosano looks at the book, tells Mori that he’s been a huge help, and politely excuses herself to buy it. (She’s not always incredibly polite with him but this time she seems sincere).
Yosano keeps thinking of her dream:
Yosano: You can fix him, right? Come on, hurry up!
Mori: Yosano, this stray kitten in your hands is already beyond saving. This kind of injury can’t be healed.
Yosano: But WHY???
Mori: It’s irrational to treat someone who is already beyond saving. Prolonging the suffering of a life that cannot be saved is not healing; that’s arrogance.
Yosano: But…but…he’s still warm!
(Lmao is this why they had a falling-out in this universe when Yosano was younger? Because Mori was not a kitten necromancer???)
When Yosano returns to the dorms she’s met by Kenji who tells her the kittens are arriving NOW. Yosano tells Kenji to grab a towel for her and meet her at the mama cat. One of the kittens isn’t breathing, and Yosano wraps it in a towel and rubs it gently until it starts squeaking. She’s so relieved and thinks that it was all just like Mori-sensei said. Once the kittens are all delivered, Kenji and Yosano wonder what to do - it’s getting dark soon and no pets are allowed in the dorms. Yosano asks Kenji to lend her a hand.
Yosano and Kenji spend the rest of the afternoon finding homes for the kittens and the mother cat. They give the last tiny kitten to a classmate and Yosano says she’s glad he will have a kind owner.
On the way home, Yosano is thoughtful and Kenji is curious. She asks Kenji if he knows how long a stray cat lives. Kenji guesses 10 years, and Yosano explains it’s 3-4 years actually - diseases, accidents, injuries lead to a short life. Kenji agrees that life is fragile and both life and death are natural. Yosano says that even such small lives are meaningful and worth saving, and she wants to try to save them even if she’s going to fail. Kenji calls that her “kindness”.
Yosano decides she wants to become a doctor one day - even if she’s is inspired by him, she’s gonna do things her own way.
Kenji asks her if she made it to the bookstore after all, and she said she did and she bought a book - a book recommended by an extremely skillful doctor.

1) sign out of your icloud on the appstore (scroll all the way down until you see the sign out button)
2) create a new gmail account, but set your location in japan. if it asks for a phone number, you can use your regular one to authenticate.
3) create a new apple id, either through the signed out appstore or on the apple website
4) use your japanese gmail account you created when it asks for an email.
5) when creating the apple id, set your location in japan.
6) now login on the apple website with your new apple id to verify.
7) go to the appstore and log in with your new account.
8) when it asks for billing information, put in the following details:
street: 1-1 Chiyoda
city: Chiyoda-ku
prefecture: Tokyo
zip: 100-0001
phone: 09012345678
then the phonetic version of your name in the top boxes.
9) download the app + start it.
10) switch back to your normal apple id on your app store (don’t worry, it doesn’t delete the game!)
