Jouno as Emma from Veil - style imitation try
The double standard is noticeable, but also entirely correct.
Based on this comic
that one couch meme
i mentioned this in the tags of my last post but out of every theory i had on how tecchou and jouno would reunite this last chapter was everying i wanted and more.
first we got tecchou protecting ranpo from a mind-controlled jouno but instead of raising his sword against him and seriously harming him, he let jouno’s sword slide DOWN HIS ARM ( which made me cringe more than any other injury in this series because OW ) with a smile!
then we get this gay ass like “i finally have you jouno” which is the official translation by the way!!!! crazy!!!! followed by tecchou using the qualities he admires about jouno to bring him back (“where is your noble soul? your courage?”) which is just. wow. because it’s very clear that tecchou admires jouno a lot yet never would say that to his face until now.
AND IT WORKS ! AND WE GET TECCHOU SMILING ! also i love how confident tecchou seemed during this. he wasn’t begging , he wasn’t afraid, it’s as if he know if anything would get jouno out of this trance it would be himself pissing jouno the fuck off.
also this is information even ranpo is shocked by. these two idiot’s love-hate bond was strong enough to just. bypass the one orders skill. that weapon that was sealed away, guarded by many nations because of its power and considered “one of the great disasters”? yeah tecchou’s ragebait is stronger.
and finally the cutest little chibis of them that made me need to put down my phone and take a lap around my room. this chapter was perfect.
for @reapkusho <3 . insp. by pictures of you by the cure
no matter how hard he puts his mind to it, saigiku jouno just can’t get rid of his pictures of you.
or any media or memories he has of you, after he pushed you away. to focus on work, and to keep you safe, he claims. its not like he lied! fully, anyway.
before anyone asks, “but how does he even see the pictures?”—he doesn’t. its this notion of having physical proof—evidence—, that you loved him, that keeps him going. there’s something about having a piece of you, of sorts, wherever he goes.
in his wallet, in his phone case, framed in his bedroom—oh, what will he do, if he gets rid of his pictures of you? what would he do with himself, if not stay devoted to you?
sometimes, he holds his pictures of you, begging his foolish heart to get a grip. to stop believing that they’re real, and that you’ll come back.
what makes pictures more dear to him—especially when he can’t see what they looked like, upon clicking the button on the camera—, are that you never really knew he took them, until after you heard the click.
one time, in the rain, you spun around, splashing in the puddles with your giggles echoing through the street he was walking you down. the street wasn’t fully-packed—it had the occasional passer-byer—, but his senses closed in on you.
the way your shoes splashed in the puddles, the way the rain showered down on the floor and rippled through your clothes and overflowing gutters on the side of the road. the way your laughter filled the bustling street, and was all he could hear. the way you suddenly grabbed his hands, dancing with him in the rain.
once you let go of his hands to keep frolicking around, he pulled out his little camera in his right pocket—where you always put it—, turning it on and taking a spur of photos.
you never looked at the camera and kept moving around, which made them feel so real. so special, so uniquely yours, so you. the way your whole body blurred around, but your smile was always in all of them—oh, he misses it.
he misses you.
in dreams, he tries opening his eyes. but it wouldn’t stop you from leaving. it wouldn’t help him find the right words to hold onto your heart.
when he wakes up from those dreams, it hurts. a deep-rooted ache swells through every part of him. through every breath, twitch, sound, movement—his body, no, his whole being aches to be beside you, again.
maybe he’ll put off breaking apart his pictures of you, for another day.

✦ you're clingy today . . . i'm not complaining ✦
ᯓ feat. saigiku jouno contains. fem!reader, fluff, established relationship, clingy reader, soft intimacy, hand holding word count. 427 prompt #20
hihi… i… im jere for to req a part two for the jouon fic… plz… i need a happy ending desperately (and also i would LOVE a tetchou ver, preferably also with a happy ending…) plz and thank you 🙏
Jouno X ADA! reader
part 2
(Specifically the Arc where the whole world is convinced the ADA is a criminal organisation - season 4)
Summary: The Agency is on the run after being accused for the hostage situation. Everyone is distraught, but you, moreso than others, seeing as you aren't just running away from the Hunting Dogs, but grappling with the fact that your boyfriend is one of them too....
A/n: Hiii, I am honoured to get this ask and the comments requesting part 2 - I am more than happy to oblige. It did start a bit angsty, but later it slips into comfort. I hope you enjoy it:)
PS. As per the request, I have also started the work on the Tetchou one so... It should be up sometime soon
Trigger Warnings: maybe a bit angst at the beginning, a bit of sadism (it's Jouno, come on), a bit of dark themes, captivity, mild interrogation themes?
★★☆★★☆★★☆★★
You knew running was futile. You knew that you had the best chance out of all to survive captivity by the Haunting Dogs
You knew you made the right choice to stay behind, to help your friends escape
This knowledge didn't make it much less intimidating
One could think that your and Jouno's relationship would be an asset to your survival... But it also made the whole experience that much more dreadful
You were finally caught and the heavy chains of handcuffs were placed upon your wrists. You didn't flinch when you felt his hands upon your arms as he guided you to the vehicle. You didn't dare turn your head to look at his face. Though even if you did, you doubted he would betray even the tiniest bit of his emotions. You could only guess how he felt.
You didn't say a word. It was up to him to start the conversation.
"Y/n. See, this was just one stupid decision after another. You could have been out of this mess so much sooner..." He mused, "If only someone wasn't so stubborn" he waited. He wanted a reaction out of you. Any reaction would suffice. You refused to react at all.
"And sacrificing yourself like that... So foolish. Tell me, is it because you really value your friends? Or because you thought we'd go easy on you?" He tapped your shoulder waiting for a response.
"Me staying behind was not a stupid decision. I protect the people I care about. Especially if they are wrongfully accused." You replied with as much dignity as you could in your current position.
His grip on your shoulders tightened involuntarily. He willed himself to loosen it and silently cursed himself for betraying his emotions like this. His jaw clenched.
"Hmm... Perhaps it wasn't that stupid of a decision... It did give us someone to interrogate, after all" you could practically feel his unnerving smile without having to look at his face. You shivered. Your certainty in coming out of this relatively unscathed was waning.
"Tell me, Y/n, what do you think happens next?"
You didn't respond, hoping that it was one of his rhetorical questions targeted to mess with someone's mind. He glided his finger over your shoulder. The gesture so familiar and calming. You wonder if that was what he was aiming for. If he was doing it intentionally, or out of habit.
You wanted to lean into his embrace. And had to muster all your free will not to.
"I'm waiting..." He reminded you. A beat passed. Then another. "Hm... Not keen on speaking much anymore... Well, that's alright. I have some ideas of my own..."
Despite the menacing tone and vague, yet creepy threats, he didn't have much intention to harm you
The days that passed since he last saw you were... Unpleasant (both to him and by extension to everyone who surrounded him)
They were filled with excruciating worry. Worry about you. Worry that came to the surface as anger and much more cruel remarks
Worry he couldn't fully, openly demonstrate to you... That would compromise him.
He can't have that
But his true feelings are evident through actions.
They are evident in the light touches - so distantly familiar from the time before all of this went down.
They are evident through his presence, always not far from you, always ensuring no harm comes to you from anyone
They are evident through the countless hours he spent in the room to which you now were confined to - keeping you company under the guise of an interrogation
Speaking of interrogation - he ensured that he would be the one conducting it and made a strict policy of no foreign involvement in it
You weren't even sure if this was a proper interrogation - you heard plenty of frightening rumours about the methods of some hunting dogs.... Certainly Jouno could do much more than menacingly sit opposite of you and ask a question every once in a while
Do not get me wrong - he managed to make it very much unsettling... But you were sure that he was going very much easy on you
Each time, without fail, when visiting you in your confinement, Jouno would ask a variation of the following question: "Did you do it?"
Sometimes he'd ask "How did you commit the crime" or a simple "Why?"
Sometimes he didn't even care for the answer. After all, you without fail answered "We didn't do it"
What he truly wanted was to catch you in a lie. And yet, each time, without fail, he sensed your answer to be truthful.
This, along with the desperation and pain in your voice was driving him mad
He would say that he is working on "cracking you" and "forcing you into cooperation"
Despite how much he claims to be disengaged personally, he still very much cares. And he still very much wants to spend time with you
In fact, one of the more selfish reasons for him trying to convince you into cooperation is the fact that then, you'd be more safe and everything could go back to how it was before
Despite all those tender feelings, he is mean and cruel and mocking to you, during the most part
If you hadn't known him so well, you'd think he was only visiting you to rub salt in the wound - to make you suffer (and for a tiny, dark part of him that's true)
But mostly, he visits you to check up on you
With each visit, he hopes that you have changed your mind - that you will help track down the Agency
You remain ever so stubborn
He sat on the chair opposite of you. He has been for the last 30 minutes. The silence was unnerving. To you. He didn't mind. It was an interrogation tactic, after all. A more gentle one... But still, an interrogation tactic nonetheless.
"Look I already told you. I didn't do it. The Agency didn't do it. We were framed. Why won't you believe me?"
"That's the thing... I just don't," his lips curled into a smile. The whole ordeal was starting to exhaust him.
"I don't like mind games, y/n. You know that" there was a dangerous edge to his voice. Because that's what this was for him - mind games. He knew you had to be lying. Yet he couldn't detect it and that was driving him insane.
"Is that so? Isn't that all you do? Play mind games until someone trips up just because their brain is fried?" You were exhausted. If the roles were reversed, you would have believed him instantly. Why couldn't he believe you?
That remark was sudden for you. Too harsh. Too daring.
If you were some common criminal, you'd be done for...
Jouno stood up, "I'll visit you tomorrow. Or maybe I should ask Teruko to take the lead on your interrogation from now on?"
You remained stubbornly silent.
Just you heart beating obnoxiously loud in your chest.
"Your silence tells the tale of strength and determination. But your frantic heartbeat speaks the truth." He reveled in your fear and despair a bit, before leaving the room. The threat still loomed in the air, not letting you rest
He had no intention of acting on it
But he also thought that a bit of fear could do you good in such a situation. Maybe then you would be more compliant. More cooperative.
You guessed that much when it was Jouno who showed up the next day, not Teruko
You thought that would be the end of that threat
You hoped it would be the end of it
Unluckily for you, you were mistaken...
Seeing as Jouno's interrogations wasn't yielding much of a result, Fukuchi would decide to reassign the person taking care of your case
The way Jouno found out was not ideal either. He just witnessed one of the Hunting Dogs leaving the room you were held in.
Naturally he's pissed. Mad. Livid
Naturally, not many can tell that. He remains just as unperturbed.
Naturally, he would make sure whoever just exited your room would have no wish of continuing the interrogation. He would make them petrified to even think about trying to pry any information out of you. And he would do all that with a smile.
Teruko skipped out of your room cheerily.
"Oh, hellooo Jouno!" She beamed and waved at him, "You know, a few more sessions and I think I just might crack your girl. Marvelous, no?"
He retained his pleasant smile and nodded. Inside him the storm and fury raged. You weren't supposed to be touched by anyone
"Is that so, Teruko? What marvelous news..." Jouno mused.
"You don't look much happy" she frowned slightly, "You know, sometimes it seems like you're going easy on her. Is it because you still love her despite her criminal status?" She probed, her bluntness was infuriating. "I got bad news for ya, cuz there ain't no way she's walking away from this one unscathed" Teruko declared loudly.
"I have been thinking about it... I have also been thinking about another thing..." He mused. A dangerous smile on his face.
It made even Teruko hesitate. "Really?" She asked uncertainly, unsure whether she should be probing further. She was his superior. But there was something unnerving in him, in this instance. Something that made her shiver. She didn't like this Jouno. She didn't like how he got when you were in danger...
"Dearest Teruko, tell me... What would happen if Captain found out about the complaints you have been receiving lately? For abuse of status and unnecessary violence?" He mused. Normally, the Captain wouldn't care and Jouno knew that. But right now, it was a very fragile and tense time for everyone. And anything that could tarnish the Hunting Dogs's reputation was grave danger and persecuted with a great severity.
"Why bring it up now, Jouno?" She narrowed her eyes, "You resort to senseless violence all the time..." That much was true. He had a mean, sadistic streak...
"True. The difference is, when I do it, they dare not talk. I do not leave evidence. I do not get complaints. You got sloppy" his lips curled into a smile, "You have given me leverage. Do you want to disappoint the Captain?"
Teruko frowned. There was no roundabout over it.
He pressed on, "Need I remind you how fragile all public relations are at the moment? Now, the best course of action for you, would be to just... Tell the Captain she didn't crack"
After Teruko left, he'd check up on you
Make sure you're alright
And maybe... Just maybe... Would try to deliver an apology. Not outright. Definitely not aloud.
Just subtle enough for you to see the shift. To feel the difference. To infer it.
Even if Teruko backed off from you, it wouldn't mean that Jouno's... Change of heart, his personal feelings wouldn't become apparent to Fukuchi
Whether it be through Teruko's slip up
Or him realising it on his own... Jouno's loyalty to you would become more apparent with each passing day
Fukuchi would try to keep Jouno away from you. Either by giving not so subtle advice as to avoid you or simply giving him more workload, to keep him occupied
Obviously Jouno would catch on fairly quickly - he's not stupid. And he is rather perceptive.
He would simply remark that he "didn't appreciate the Captain's not so subtle involvement in his interrogation and his personal affairs"
He gave no further inclination as to how that made him feel - he was always great at masking it
Fukuchi feared, that with your involvement, Jouno would snap out from under the page's control
He feared he would find the Agency innocent
He feared right
But it was too late
Or maybe it was always too late
Maybe it was too late from the moment you and Jouno met
Maybe it was fated that it would be you who would break him out of the page's influence
Because with every visit to you, Jouno's conviction of your innocence grew stronger
He no longer tormented you with his disbelief. He just silently sat next to you, deep in thought, sometimes idly twirling your hair
Sometimes just surveying your heartbeat
You would probably be the main catalyst, if not the reason for him snapping out of the magic of the page
The fact that you never once lied
The fact that you simply wouldn't do such a thing - he knew you. And he knew that this - Everything that was going on - was not in your nature
The fact that one glance at the situation not as a Hunting Dog, but as your lover broke the influence of the page...
Seeing Jouno wavering, Tachihara probably swooped in and related his theory. That simply cemented what Jouno was already starting to believe
After escaping wherever the Hunting Dogs held you, the contact with Jouno was severed
But it only made your reunion that much more significant
Because by the time you saw each other again... You both were so tired
Tired of uncertainty
Tired of mistrust
Tired of all the emotional turmoil
And you missed each other
As soon as your eyes landed on him, before it even registered to you, you were running in his direction. It was a reckless decision. It was stupid. But you haven't seen him in a few days. And you missed him.
You were about to restate again what you have stayed so many times to him before. It was futile. He didn't believe before - why would he now?
But you missed him. So you had to try.
"I didnt-" you started, but he pulled you into his embrace, cutting you off:
"Shh, not now"
He held you close. You inhaled his scent. And reveld in his warmth something you missed oh so dearly. You closed your eyes for a moment and allowed yourself to bask in this bliss. The grave danger you both were in seemed to dissipate to the background...
His lips ghosted your ear as he whispered, barely audibly, just enough to discern:
"I believe you"
Three little words. But they held immense power over both your hearts.
You looked up at him abruptly. Slight disbelief etched onto your face. There was a light smile playing on his lips.
It lacked all the malice and cruelty that you have grown to recognise for the past month. Instead, it was warm. It was kind. It was the kind of smile that slightly begged you to forgive him.
It was the smile you loved and cherished.
A stray tear rolled down from your eye. His thumb glided along your cheek to wipe it away.
"Jouno-" you breathe out, unsure what you want to say. There is too much to say. Too much that you longed to say in the past days.
He held you tighter, one hand caressing your hair, the other pulling you closer. He placed a soft kiss on your forehead. A promise. A vow to never doubt you again.
