This video was filmed in 2010, written by RM and produced by him and Pdogg, to be a promotional video to attract more recruits to audition for Big Hit. It was one of two songs RM wrote for that purpose. (I have no idea why the end of the video cuts to just lyrics, but oh well.)

READ THOSE LYRICS. If you were a 13 year old boy, kind of aimless but wishing you had some type of passion, those lyrics would be a siren's song. 13 year old me would have followed Namjoon anywhere too after hearing this song.

In my imagination - this is now officially the video that made Jungkook decide to follow RM.

Also -- 15 year old RM is very cool. Mad respect for writing this song at that age.

And I love that Big Hit used RM's own words (no one else is credited at all on those lyrics) to recruit people. They didn't try to fancy it up at all -- they were really out there putting all their money on proving that they wanted people who could tell their own story. And I am HERE for it.

Hi admins! Since bang pd has announced his resignation from CEO of hybe there has been a lot of talks on sns over how bhm is private and hybe is public and what his position now entails. Its all very vague for me since i have no knowledge of how such corporates work. I m sure there are some others like me too. Would it be possible for you to explain them better? Thank you.

I do love how everyone came to us and followed us for Bangtan and vmin/namjin content yet you're getting another post that's really about neither. We’ll get back to Bangtan/vmin/namjin content very soon, I promise. But thank you, cottoncandykings, for thinking of asking us about this. To be quite honest when I read the announcement earlier I wasn't quite sure what that meant either, but I've read up on it and I think I get it now so let's give this a try.

(If any of you are business people and know more about this than I do, or if you notice me make some obvious mistake, please do send in an ask do I can correct it though I tried my best.)

Basically before he resigned from the CEO position, Bang PD was both the chairman sitting at the head of the board of directors, so the people who now that HYBE is a publicly traded company make decisions, as well as the CEO, the person who manages the company on a day to day basis and literally everything that is happening in it. On top of that he also worked on music for Bangtan and TXT, though like he said himself years ago, with HYBE growing and growing it meant that his CEO responsibilities pulled him away from music which he didn't like. For those who might not know, before HYBE became what it is today, Bang PD used to be one of the best when it comes to writing and producing ballads in Korea so his heart has always been with music.

So, now that he has resigned from the CEO position, that means he can finally focus on producing and writing music again while still remaining the HYBE chairman and the person with the biggest % stock wise, so he is the one who has the biggest say in all things HYBE. That also means that, should he not like what the new CEO will do going forward, he has the power to tell him so or even fire and replace him if he would see a need for it.

Here's a little something I saw that illustrates this a little better:

Fun fact: Park Jiwon, so the new HYBE CEO, used to be the CEO of Nexon Korea and the Global CEO of Nexon Japan, the company behind Seokjin’s beloved video game MapleStory. That basically means the guy knows what he’s doing and obviously Bang PD must trust him.

Now BigHit Music. Like you said yourself, the smart thing Bang PD has done was to basically bait potential shareholders into buying HYBE stocks because BTS but then in May 2021 during a meeting of the board of directors the final approval and green lighting happened for BHM to go private. Think what you want about Bang PD, who has done some...questionable things over the years no question, but at least with this he did something very good.

What does that mean, and especially what does this mean for BTS? It basically means that no one can touch them since they are a separate entity, so to speak, from HYBE and therefore no one (shareholders wise etc) has a say when it comes to their management, their artistry and what they decide for their future and careers. Same thing also goes for TXT since they are also under BHM. So if any of you were worried about the involvement of Yikes Man Scooter with HYBE, worry not because he has exactly zero say and zero power when it comes to BTS and BHM. While yes, he did get a seat at the table of the board of directors, his % share wise is so tiny, it’s basically more decoration than anything else. Even BTS individually have more of a say than he does, if I remember correctly. 

All in all, from our point of view, nothing is really going to change and none of this is something we have to worry or really care about. BTS and their music are “safe” and unaffected by all of this. Bang PD still holds the biggest authority, and regardless of what the new CEO will do, again, BTS will be unaffected by it. The only thing in all of this that affected them is the value of HYBE stocks since, the more it rises or holds a stable high value, the better for them.
