After pulling two double shifts this week, Buck was looking forward to spending his seventy-two off in and doing nothing but eat takeout, watch tv and sleep. But his boyfriend had other plans.

“Come on, Evan… It’ll be fun! Spending a night outside, becoming one with nature… it’ll be good for you. For us.” Tommy had practically begged despite Buck's clear lack of enthusiasm for camping.

Why would you go somewhere where there’s no plumbing or AC, and you can’t even order Doordash. What’s the fucking point? And Tommy should know better. They get calls from campers getting hurt in the woods all the damn time and it seems like each caller manages to invent a new way to get injured.

Buck had rolled his eyes. They’re far more likely to be killed by a bee than by a bear but Buck didn’t tell him that. Tommy always makes fun of him when he blurts out one of his random facts. God, he misses Chris. He wouldn’t mind going camping with Chris and Eddie. It would’ve been a great opportunity to…

Buck almost felt bad for how much he enjoyed the way Tommy's face fell. Almost.

“Evan… come on, I want us to spend some quality time together. Alone.” he said as he dragged his thumb along Buck’s neck, leaving no doubts about his intentions with this escapate. Oh, Buck was aware. And he was not a fan.
