So I've grown a fixation of fusing bugs w planes & vehicles, since I'm obsessed with planes. They're really cool :) and I came up with a few designs! Along with some other designs that aren't fused with bugs, but dragons (from httyd)
First off, here's the aircrafts. From the beginning I didn't really have a plan. So when designing the P-15 Mustang, I just used any bug to reference off of. However, for the F-16 Falcon, I took some inspiration from a Grasshopper. Then for the UH-72 Lakota, I used a Mosquito.
Now here are the Vehicle bug designs. I took a few suggestions from people this time. One recommendation I got was a Wasp and Motorcycle which I thought was genius, and fused it with a Harley-Davidson. The other was a double-decker bus (I choice to mix with a beetle), I absolutely love it... I imagine they aren't good fliers lol. The Millipede train was also another suggestion I did! I really loved that one :D
And yes, despite having wheels, both the Wasp motorcycle and double-decker beetle do have wings. How well they are at flying depends on their vehicle model
For anyone wondering, I imagine these bugs/vehicles & planes are more organic based rather than full mechanic. However, they do rely on substances like gas and other fuels to keep themselves sustained.
They are born with their pre-existing vehicle & plane models and depending on their model, it can reflect their species and can be divided into subspecies. So, there can be a Wasp combined with a helicopter instead, however it'd be considered a subspecies to that of the motorcycle wasp. If that makes sense...
I think I'll design a few diagrams explaining their biology in the future!

Now here are the HTTYD designs! I always thought how similar the Deadly Nadder looked to a helicopter and finally decided to draw it! I based it off a Bell AH-1Z Viper (Super Cobra). For the Night Furies, I picked a P-15 Mustang (again, I love P-15s) and the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, which is kinda my favorite.
I did plan on doing the Stormcutter next. However, I lost motivation (my hand was killing me), but I definitely plan on coming back to continue this mini series of designs, both the bug and dragons :)
