Do you think it would've been more interesting to write a love triangle between Weiss, Blake and Yang, wherein Yang & Blake had mutual feelings but in the end stayed best friends with their issues sorted out, whilst Freezerburn became endgame?

Oh yeah, absolutely, Weiss and Yang just have much more chemistry and development towards actual relationship beats, and much more naturally too. Bees could've worked but it needed to be genuinely developed, and what mkek actually wrote was them being really toxic, so. Yeah. Freezerburn would've been much better.

Angry, possessive girl with massive abandonment issues loves girl whose instinct is to run away because of trauma from her angry, possessive ex? That's not romantic, that's toxic like nerve gas. These two are the living embodiment of each other's triggers.

That said, in fanon I've seen the bees written very well! They can be a good couple, but they need to actually address and work through the ways they hurt each other, and instead of that, in the show CRWBY goes the exact opposite direction, intensifying the toxic traits and calling it sweet and romantic and lovey.
