For the past two years I have been apart of a volunteer club that visits the United Learning Center (ULC) in Phang Nga, Thailand, a school for Myanmar migrant families. I heard so many stories there that moved me in such a way that I promised them that I would tell the world about it. I was honestly astonished that it didn’t have more coverage already. The world had seemed to forget them. So here I drew some of my interactions with them, my friends.

By sharing this post I hope to raise awareness both about the issue in general and to talk about the FED. I have worked with this organization for the past two years and they are the nicest people you have ever met. Their sole purpose is to help the people around them, the people struggling because of this war. They have changed so many lives and will continue to change more. But any and all help is appreciated, and I urge you to do whatever you can to do so.

You might think that its funny that UHC CEO was murdered but someday you might be the CEO of a multi billion dollar corporation making an eight figure salary maybe you wont think its so funny

The day I make eight figures, or seven for that matter (six also seems kinda pushing sanity, not to mention decency) the day I really start worrying about the people paying me, like their sanity and such. I know my worth, probably ten thousand bucks more than I make now, max, and that keeps me well under the six figure income bracket.

On the day I make eight figures for inventing a widget that slices bread eight times faster than the latest doohickey on the market, I'm donating that money, and not to my own money laundering charity front either, I'm giving that shit straight to the Peshmerga or Karen National Union (two groups I've always been fond of along with the Zapatista) and keeping back maybe the five figures I need to support my family on. With maybe an extra five thousand a year to support local artists and underfunded historical preservation initiatives... but most of this magical money is going to groups actually doing the work.

I'm hoping, of course, that by the time I become a CEO both Kurdistan and the Karens have achieved independence, but also being realistic about this very silly scenario.

If I make my hypothetical millions on the blood, sweat, and suffering of people just to keep my shareholders happy, then, comrades all, I deserve any medicinal lead the people see fit to give me by the nearest bike messenger.

IMPORTANT RANT! --------------------------------------------------------------

I've been thinkin a ton about Palestine and the atrocities happening there and around the world (The Congo, Yemen, Syria, etc. God, the fact that there's an 'etc' makes me sick). I have many palestinian friends, my neighbors are palestinian/jordanian, some really close friends of the family are palestinian/venezuelan. One of my best friends is palestinian/jordanian and she has been educating me so much. My Pinterest and tumblr are full of statistics, videos, news clips, pictures, and screenshots of posts about whats happening in Palestine.

And wow. Every day I just feel like curling up into a little ball and crying. Hiding away from the world.

I so desperately just want this all to be a horrible dream. I am genuinely hoping this is some kind of simulation and when we wake up we find out it was all just a test, zionists are gone, palestine and so many other places and people are free, and we can just live a normal life. But I know that ain't how it works.

But something that gives me hope is that our voices and our posts on here? they work. Slowly, but they're working. More and more people are being educated every day, and hopefully this will get close enough to the higher-ups that changes are made.

Im gonna put a shit ton of Palestine (and other conflict) related tags to help get 'em trending again. A small contrubtion from a microscopic blog, but a contribution nonetheless.

I am Karen(no,not those kind of crazy white women).That is what I am ethnically,and it is one of the many ethnic groups in Burma.While many of us do like in Myanmar/Burma,others do live in Thailand as well,where their most likely safer anyway.

I remember seeing a video in church showing how horrible it was for them.They couldn't sleep easily for fear that they'd die the next second,especially with the Burmese government dropping bombs randomly.I couldn't be sure why they felt it was necessary to terrorize innocent people but this is indeed ethnic cleansing.This could be inaccurate but there were two ceasefires signed and yet this war is still going strong.I don't even know if calling it a war is right when the odds seem to be against us.This year marks the 75th year since and there's no end to it.

I spent most of my life in the U.S. so I'm luckier than all of them but my mother wasn't.Is she alive?Definitely,but she admitted she almost died at 16 because of this.I find it so odd how,even at times like this,they manage to put faith into God.No one would blame them,especially when they have to change locations repeatedly,if they gave up,but they manage to stand tall.

I hope,one day,we become free,even though it is unlikely.And I hope that all Palestinian folks are free too.In a lot of aspects,they are very similar but still different.More people have passed away in Palestine and they seem to face a harsher reality.Still,both deserve freedom especially when they fought so long for it.

၂၀၀၉ ခုနှစ်တွင် အသစ်ပေါ်ပေါက်လာသော ရက္ခိုင်အမျိုးသားအဖွဲ့ချုပ်/အာရက္ခတပ်တော် (ULA/AA) နှင့် အဖွဲ့တည်ထောင်သူ ဗိုလ်ချုပ်ထွန်းမြတ်နိုင်သည် အခြားသော ERO များနှင့်နှိုင်းယှဉ်ပါက သက်တမ်းအလွန်နုပါသည်။ သို့သော် ဗိုလ်ချုပ်ထွန်းမြတ်နိုင်၏ ခေါင်းဆောင်မှုအောက်တွင် ULA/AA လက်ရှိ ရရှိထားသော ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ်ရှိ စစ်ရေး အောင်မြင်မှုများက သက်တမ်းရင့် ERO များပင် မစွမ်းဆောင်နိုင်ခဲ့သော အောင်မြင်မှုအဖြစ် စံချိန်တင်နိုင်ခဲ့ သည်။
