mahal kita | jade leech
i hate brainrot,,, sm,,, this blog has too much Jade already. Anyways~! For those who don't know, Mahal Kita essentially means "I love you" in Filipino ! And since I am a hopeless romantic that longs to hear those words, this happened.
"Mahal kita."
Your grip on your teacup loosened, some of its content spilling over the table. "Eh?" You stared at the tall eel in front of you, did you hear him correctly— mahal kita? Your ears weren't failing you, right? His accent was barely noticeable and said the words in your language so naturally that you had to do a double-check. Jade chuckled, "My, my.. are you that surprised? Your tea is spilling, my dear." You could tell from his smirk that he got exactly the reaction he wanted. Questions popped up inside your head, where did he even learn-? Ah forget it, it's Jade we're talking about after all. Surely, he must know the meaning behind those words, no?
You quickly regained your composure, setting down your almost-empty teacup on the table. You approached Jade with burning hot cheeks, crossing your arms as you puffed out your cheeks. "You-! You do know what that means, right?" If he said no— he better pick a god and pray because he shouldn't just throw around those words carelessly. And to say it in your native language too-! How romantic. Jade simply smiled, eyes closed "Of course, I wouldn't just go around throwing around those kinds of words, no?" As if he read your mind, he slipped his fingers under your chin and tugged it upwards to meet your gaze. 'This man…!'
"Fufu~ how cute. You're so embarrassed." He teased, you could see his sharp teeth with that grin of his— you could tell he was enjoying every bit of this. You decided to get back at him, extending your arms to cup his cheeks with both of your hands as you blurted out— "Mahal din kita." Jade's cheeks slowly began to turn pink, letting go of your chin to cover his face, looking away. "That— you weren't supposed to say that." It seems like he really didn't expect you to say the same words to him. Oh well— A flustered Jade is a cute Jade.
