This is a quail gizzard!

This little thing contains grit used to grind up anything tough in the GI tract. Since my quail are pretty exclusively fed a processed feed, there nothing too cool in there

But clean it out and you can see the INCREDIBLY tough inner lining

It feels a little bit like wet sandpaper in there. Really cool to open up and look at.

Larger birds like chickens and turkeys that free range have gizzards full of small stones, called gastroliths. There's even a hobby some hunters have, of collecting "turkey pearls" and displaying them!

If the quail have any they are very very very small. I do wonder what the peafowl gizzards contain...

so please get your head out of Ryan Condal’s ass and stop speaking on George as if he doesn’t have a right to be angry that these dumbass writers butchered his work.

“they have to make adaptations for tv!!” - writing errors and boring & dumb scenes aren’t ‘adaptations for tv’, they’re mostly stupid, made-up scenes that don’t serve the story.

“f&b is unreliable” - at least 90% of the time it’s made clear which parts of the story r more likely to be true, you guys r just too dumb to understand.

hotd is not only a bad adaptation, it’s also a bad show on its own since it cannot even be consistent between s1 & s2…

so many things to be in life and some ppl decided to be hotd dickriders… #freeyourself this show will be forgotten a month after it ends (as it should be)
