Sad we have to think about these things, but important we take steps to protect our kids. I had the talk with Marley Jane the other day. With a heavy heart I had to reiterate (we’ve had this talk before unfortunately) how some people in this world will harm others, for no logical reason whatsoever. That there is corruption and tell her how to duck and cover, find a small space to hide, wait for help, stay close to your teacher, Remain Calm no matter what.... along with several intimate talks about the threat of sexual abuse, as I am fully aware of this all too quiet epidemic. It’s enough to have her questioning how God could allow this to happen. I know, it’s a sad tale. But it’s real and needs to be shared. I know I’m not alone in this! I remind her God is Real, I show her the butterflies, she makes magic out of each ordinary day with her magnetic charm. She’s my proof of Divinity. So, with the dark we choose to find light. She’s growing and learning... a lifelong journey unfolds before my eyes. I will keep having the talks, until my last breath. I’ll protect her with every ounce of grit in my soul, and there is a lot in the tank.
