Slightly nsfw: Late to the discourse I believe, but to give my input regarding buttons: once you get used to unbuttoning, it becomes very easy to unbutton a whole line of them rather quickly. This is especially true in regards to men’s and women’s button down shirts - they’re opposites so the same motion used to unbutton one’s own shirt can be used on the opposite sex. Source: four years of boarding school uniforms that required button-downs and a tie.

With as many buttons as Severus has, I always imagined that he has invented some sort of buttoning (and unbuttoning) charm. You know, for when he simply can’t wait any longer…;)
