The more I think about a fruity four polycule the more I actually kind of ship Eddie x Nancy which is so not a direction I saw my brain going in

I imagine they'd start out just both dating Steve and not really interacting much, but the more they get to know each other the more they bond and at first it's just mostly them swapping notes on their mutual boyfriend, and maybe Eddie gets a bit cuddly sometimes in a platonic way, but eventually they both have "oh no" moments and they stress over it a lot while Steve is just like 😍 my loves do be falling for each other

I hc Eddie as having a huge preference for guys (to the point where he probably just thinks he's gay) and Nancy definitely thinks he's gay, so Nancy thinks she has a useless crush on a gay guy, and Eddie is just like "okay so... men mostly, but also Nancy?! 🙃"
