C-real - Sorry but i - 2012 🌾
Nugu GG of the Week #299 : C-Real (part 5)
C-Real returns one last time in 2012 with another digital single, Danger Girl. Sadly their most nugu era. No budget for an MV and the song is pretty simple in lyrics/production. However I really like this song a lot, yeah it feels low budget compared to their previous releases but it's just super catchy and rapper girl went off.
Eventually the group went into hiatus, 2 members left the following year and then by 2014 it became apparent the group disbanded. They had a strong start but for whatever reason they lost that momentum and fell off, they were active during 2011-2012 and there was a lot of stiff competition in the GGs so I guess they got lost in the shuffle.
Post disbandment one of the members Re Dee has apparently re entered the music under her birth name Dahee (she briefly stylized it at DYHE). I was kinda in shock but vocally she sounds different, very similar to DalSooobin which threw me off, I expected a higher tone like IU but it's been over 10 years and she's an adult now but it still threw me off. However she is nugu i.e. many people confused her for the other Dahee of GLAM 👀 and also that Dahee 's OST song has been mixed into her YouTube music artist page. Her Spotify seems correct though.
She is signed to a company, she has put out 7 songs, all of which had a nice R&B groove to them. If you like Saay and DalSooobin I think you'll like her songs. I chose 2 songs, she did 2 collabs with SOLE so I chose one of those and her most recent release Upside Down. The Collab song, We, is solid and their voices mesh so well together. Upside Down is completely in English, super nice groove to it. Her other songs, LUH! (W/Sole), No Worries, Focus, Footprints, and Good Morning are also very solid so I do recommend her solo music! She has a few MVs, all low budget but she makes it work.
Personally I'd say Upside Down > WE > Focus > LUH! > Footprints (real music btw !!) > No Worries > Good morning.
All hits though!

Nugu GG of the Week #298 : C-Real (part 4)
C-Real returns later in 2012 with a digital single, Sorry But I. The song is a mellow ballad, their vocals are very sweet and soft, I believe they got comparisons to IU 🤔 I think they worked with someone who worked with her or something like that. You can tell, they're all well rounded.
The MV was nice and different, a simple MV but I liked the art vibe it had with them stopping time and walking away from their guys only to reverse back to them.

Nugu GG of the Week #297 : C-Real (part 3)
So before we get into their later releases here are, IMO, their best b-sides. I chose my favorite b-side from both of their 2 minis. I will say I personally feel their first mini album Round 1 is a bit more superior from the collaborations with Brave Sound, Shinsadong Tiger etc, the overall vibe of the album feels very Dal Shabet (2011-2012 era) where are as their 2nd mini feels very APink coded. I just prefer the more upbeat dance tracks than the daughters of APink 🤔
뭐야 뭐야 (What What) is the song written by Wheesung and Joohoney of Monsta X, technically there is a random man occasionally rapping but as you can see from the writers credits it's not a random man. The song is bouncy and reminds me of something Dal Shabet or even Secret would put out during their cutesy era.
좋아해? 사랑해? (Do You Like Me? Do you love me?) Is a simple cute concept track that definitely feels reminiscent of early APink, if you think APink didn't have the way for the Christian horse girls well remember they did!

Nugu GG of the Week #296 : C-Real (part 2)
C-Real returns the following in 2012 with their 2nd mini album and lead single Joma Joma. The single is more upbeat than their debut, it has some nice instruments going on, from brass/trumpets to a good percussion beat to even a fiddle giving it a slight folk pop vibe, it's no Voyage by Sejeong but it's still a solid song.
This is also a rare case for some of the nugu GGs I've mentioned i.e. this song actually charted in Korea! Peaking at #93. Off the top of my head for groups I've mentioned Fiestar ChoColat, Gavy NJ, She'z, and maybe GP Basic are some of the few that charted. So a win for the nugus!

Nugu GG of the Week #295 : C-Real (part 1)
C-Real is a 5 member girl group that debuted in 2011 and disbanded in 2014. They debuted during the golden era with APink, Dal Shabet, Brave Girls, RaNia etc. 2011 also gave us lower tier GGs/nugus from Bella (y'all still streaming Don't Let Go), Coin Jackson (y'all still streaming Feedback), ChoColat (y'all still streaming Syndrome) etc. The members were Chemi, Effie, Ann J, ReDee and Lenny.
They debuted with their first mini album, Round 1, and it's lead single No No No No No, this song was produced and co-written by Brave Brothers which you can tell because wow this song is amazing but also the random "aye!" From a guy in the background, a Cignature sound from Brave Sound. This album was solid too but more on that later 👀
The song is pretty standard, it's cutesy but mid tempo/dreamy like. Also we got a cameo from Thunder of MBLAQ! As far as nugus or lesser known GGs they were kinda set up pretty well for their debut 🤔 good music producer, budget for an MV, cameo from a well known idol, also solid talent, 4 good vocalists and rapper girl is giving hmmm kinda Bora/Woori a little bit. Us GG stans we're rooting for them in 2011.
