c2e114 is so fucking funny to rewatch because they just take so much time to realise that lucien killed derogna. theyre hired as her bodyguards and scry on lucien who is actively in her room and says he's retrieved something that they know vess has AND they even say that she has it and he now has it and they still don't put 2 and 2 together. lucien talks about following their scent to find 'her' and they all actively talk about vess and luciens history... like i want to know what matt was thinking whilst waiting for that shoe to drop

and the added hint during the scry of it being super quick and artagan and jester feeling a quick rise upwards instead of the usual description of flying towards somewhere

its just so funny seeing them finally put it together

You know, something that cracks me up is that the Cerberus Assembly absolutely still thinks the m9 engineered Vess's death somehow, right? Like, "ooh they got themselves assigned as her protective detail, and either assassinated her or helped set up her murder. Classic political moves from a powerful party".

But nope. The Mighty Nein really got roped into a single protective detail which they were actually trying to fufill, and then their client got offed because they were just too busy having hot chocolate bonding time in their tower. It happens. (If you're the Mighty Nein).
