Today’s character is...!
Shu.
Oh my God. Shu. Well, if I had to pick a least-favorite strategist, it would be Shu. I mean, primary strategist. Tenki Star, if you prefer. Yeah, he has his cool moments. I certainly don’t hate him.
But oh my God, is he an arrogant little fuck. I mean, okay, Caesar was arrogant, too, but in an endearing way. He’s also almost ten years younger than Shu.
Shu is the only strategist in the main series without a last name. What the fuck, man? You think you’re too good for a last name? And take your hand out of your stupid pocket! What have you got in there, a ring that turns you invisible and prevents you from aging? Fuck you, Shu.
I don’t know. Shu is one of those characters I like to pretend to hate, but I don’t really. Kind of like Luc. No, not Luc. Kind of like...Borus. Yeah, Borus.
I suppose part of it is the way he treated Apple. I mean, okay, first you act like a total prat to her, making her crawl around on the floor and then make her and two children look for a coin that didn’t exist in freezing water in the middle of the night. Then you make Apple, someone you know has problems with self-loathing and internalized guilt, and make her choose a card that says “Fire” so she can blame herself when you decide to die in a fire for the army. Thank God for Viktor.
No, Shu, I don’t hate you. But I do think you should go sit in the corner. Go on. Sit.
